PewDiePie stunned after learning he accidentally “scammed” YouTuber out of a camera

PewDiePie was left floored when fellow YouTuber Chris Broad joked that he’d “scammed” him out of a GoPro after losing the camera during a trip.

Felix ‘PewDiePie‘ Kjellberg is once again joining CDawgVA and Chris Broad for their Cyclethon, where the influencers livestream themselves biking across Japan for charity — rain or shine.

During a break from their travels in Hokkaido at a restaurant, Chris brought up a past incident where PewDiePie had lost his GoPro Hero9 after filming with it in a body of water, which now retail around $150 – $200.

According to Chris, Pewds waited years to replace the GoPro… so, by the time he finally got around to it, the GoPro Hero12 was the latest model of the camera. However, PewDiePie still gave him a GoPro9 to replace the old one.

PewDiePie baffled after Chris Broad says he “scammed” him out of GoPro

“He bought me a new one. I was like, ‘Oh, thanks Felix.’ It was a GoPro 12 at that point. But he went and bought me the GoPro 9 to replace the one he’d broken. But he didn’t buy me the nice, brand-new one… that’s how you build generational wealth,” Chris joked.

Kjellberg was floored by the accusation and pulled up the receipt on his phone to prove his innocence. “You told me, ‘Don’t worry about it, you don’t have to get a new one!'” he argued, laughing the whole time. “And I thought, ‘I’ll be nice.'”

However, after pulling up his order history on Amazon, he discovered that he’d bought Chris the GoPro Hero10 — still a far cry from the Hero12.

“I don’t even know where you got that from,” Chris joked. “They’re not even on sale. It was cheaper to buy the new f**king GoPro than the old one from two generations past!”

“I don’t know my cameras!” PewDiePie argued. “I thought I was doing something nice.”

Clearly there’s no bad blood between these internet-famous influencers, who were simply poking fun at Felix’s “generational wealth” he’s built up over the course of his prestigious career as one of YouTube’s most popular content creators.

The YouTuber moved to Japan in 2022 and has since welcomed his first child, Bjorn, and has even purchased land to build a house to raise his growing family, joining fellow expats CDawg and Chris whenever he can.
