Best kart combos for all characters
Mario Kart World shakes up customization from its predecessors, with racers now only able to select their character (and their outfits) alongside which vehicle they want to use (a Kart, Bike, or ATV). Using in-game character stats and our own expertise, here’s which combos are best for each character’s build in MKW.
Best combo builds in Mario Kart World
The best combos for a character will typically have high Acceleration, followed by Speed (as this can be boosted further by collecting Coins during a race), and a Weight that’s as close to the middle of the stats distribution as possible. We’ve considered Handling less here, under the assumption you have Smart Steering turned on by default.
Note: Use the ‘Filter Character’ function below to search for the character you’re looking for. You can use ‘Filter Vehicle’ if you’re looking for a specific vehicle. Multiple vehicles have the same stats on certain characters, and we’ve listed these alternatives where relevant in the list below.

What are the best bikes, karts & ATVs?
Using the table above, it’s clear to see that the Blastronaut III, Buggybud, Funky Dorrie, Junkyard Hog, and Lobster Roller are some of the best vehicle combos to build your character with, depending on their weight class.
The Lobster Roller is by far the best choice for Feather weight characters like Baby Luigi, Baby Rosalina, Dry Bones, Goomba, and Peepa, whereas the Junkyard Hog works well for Light weight characters including Shy Guy, Lakitu, and Toad.
Around the Medium and Heavy weights, there’s a little bit more variety. In the Medium class, Funky Dorrie suits Peach and Birdo best, whereas a few combinations like the Bumble V and B Dasher are great for Yoshi, and the Loco Moto working best for characters like Pauline and Cataquack.
These aren’t always blanket rules for every character that fits into a class, however, as while Bowser Jr and Monty Mole are Light weight characters, when focusing on high acceleration, the Hot Rod, Cloud 9, and Roadster Royale are some of their best choices instead of the Junkyard Hog.
