Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

New Omnimovement mechanics explained

Movement is one of the most important systems in Call of Duty, and Black Ops 7 is introducing a number of new mechanics to help you get around the maps smoothly and quickly.

Next Level Omnimovement

The Omnimovement system was first introduced in 2024’s Black Ops 6, designed to allow you to chain together combat maneuvers like sliding, jumping, or sprinting in any direction. Now, Black Ops 7 introduces “Next Level Omnimovement.”

One of the big additions is Wall Jumping, which Treyarch says will help with “traversal and engagement opportunities.”

For the first time in the series, you’ll also be able to move while mounted. In previous CoD games, once you mounted onto a wall, you were locked in that position until you moved away from it. Now, you’ll be able to move while mounted, so you can readjust your angle or make it harder for enemies to hit you.

Finally, a new combat roll has been included for falls that take place from heights where you would generally take fall damage. However, this won’t be included in core 6v6 multiplayer modes, and has only been confirmed for Skirmish so far.

Tactical Sprint

There’s a big change to Tactical Sprint, which is no longer a default ability and has to be unlocked by a Perk. Aiming down sights while sliding, diving, or wall jumping is also disabled by default, with the Perk system also required to turn those on.
