Carry Forward explained

The Carry Forward feature returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, bringing some of your unlocks and purchases from Black Ops 6 to 2025’s release.
What is Carry Forward?
Carry Forward is a system in which the weapons, Operators, Blueprints, camos, and player cosmetics, such as Calling Cards and Emblems, are carried over from the previous game. It was first introduced in 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, where content from Modern Warfare 2 was transferred over.
This meant that all MW2 weapons and Operators could be used in MW3’s multiplayer and Zombies modes, and the same feature is coming to Black Ops 7 – but not everything will be there at launch on November 14.

How Carry Forward works in Black Ops 7
In Black Ops 7, all Double XP Tokens and Gobblegums you’ve earned in Black Ops 6 and Warzone will be there for you at launch on November 14, making leveling up your Player Rank and Weapons much quicker and easier.
Then, BO6 weapons, Operators, and Operator skins will arrive as part of the Season 1 update “a few weeks after launch.” But, there are some exceptions:
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.
- Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.
Then, as part of the Season 1 update, all of Black Ops 7’s weapons will be added to the battle royale mode.
We’ll update this page with the full list once everything that carries over has been confirmed.
