Best classes: Ranked
When you load into a Battlefield 6 match, you’ll be asked to decide which class to play as. They all have different abilities, gadgets, and Signature Weapons, so you’ll need to choose wisely depending on your playstyle.
However, not all classes are created equal, with some being more effective than others.

We’ve ranked the Battlefield 6 classes in order of effectiveness both as an individual and for your team, but you’ll find success with any of the classes, so try them all out and find what suits your playstyle the best.
4. Assault

No class in Battlefield 6 is particularly bad, but Assault has the weakest toolset of the bunch. If you’re a lone wolf who likes to run and gun, it serves that purpose, but if you stack its gadgets and abilities up against any of the other classes in the game, it falls well short.
While the Assault class is a useful addition in a full squad with friends, especially with it getting the Deploy Beacon after the Open Beta, it just doesn’t have anything special. But being able to carry both an Assault Rifle and a Shotgun is incredibly powerful, so don’t ignore it completely.

3. Recon

The Recon class is perfect for picking off enemies from a distance, as its Sniper Field Specs make it extremely deadly. Headshots can’t be revived, hit enemies heal slower, and any enemy you aim at gets auto-pinged, which is not only useful for you but the team as a whole.
The M2010 ESR is one of the best guns in the game, and it only gets better when used with Recon, so you’ll definitely want one in your squad.

2. Engineer

Every Battlefield player knows what it’s like to come up against a tank as an infantryman. Really, your only choice is to hide or run away, as your bullets and grenades won’t do a thing to it. However, if you’re playing as the Engineer class, you’ll be a direct counter.
Vehicles are deadly in the right hands, able to lock down whole areas, so taking them off the map is vital to your team’s success. Not only that, but they repair friendly vehicles and specialize in SMGs, which are devastating at close quarters.
Make sure to use the best Engineer class setup to be as effective as possible.
1. Support

Every Battlefield 6 squad needs a Support player. They’re the ones keeping you topped up with health, ammo, and keeping everyone alive with revives. When pushing an objective with a skilled Support player, nobody stays dead for long, leading to a constant assault that will overwhelm even the best teams.
As the support player yourself, you won’t lose out on movement speed when using LMGs (which are fantastic), never run out of ammo, get your teammates back in the fight extremely quickly, and rake in tons of XP while doing so.
