A Valorant developer has confirmed that, after five years, the long-awaited replay system is finally coming – but there will be a little bit longer to wait.
It has been five years since Riot Games finally released their highly anticipated take on the first-person hero shooter, Valorant. The last half decade has seen the game rise up to become of the most-loved around, with fans all over the globe testing their skills on Future Earth.
Those five years have seen hundreds of updates to the game. We’ve had plenty of new characters, new maps, and new game modes. Yet, there has been a couple of features that have been missing.
A replay system, which would allow players to review their own plays and even look out for undetected cheaters, has been at the top of the request list since launch.
Valorant is finally getting replays
Riot initially said that the feature wouldn’t take all that long to release, even making light of the fact it took League of Legends seven years to get one.
Well, after more than five years, Valorant will finally be getting replays. “So first, REPLAYS ARE COMING IN SEPTEMBER! Woot! Get your last “replays when?” comments in while you can,” Riot’s Anna Donlon posted on X (formerly Twitter) on April 30.
The Valorant dev added that there will be more to come in a June update video, but she didn’t go into specifics as to when that would be.
On top of that, Donlon had more good news for Valorant fans, revealing that Tejo is set to be nerfed in the 10.09 update.
“Turns out – rockets – strong right now. And it creates some situations where you just don’t have good ways to counter them. So, we’re taking some of the fuel out of his rockets and bringing him more in line with other Initiators,” she said.
There will also be “bigger changes” when Valorant Champions concludes in October. Again, though, she didn’t get into any specifics.
