Twitch icon Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter responded to threats against her on social media, after she said she wouldn’t rest until the culprit of the stream sniper attack was identified.

On March 2, Valkyrae and Cinna were broadcasting their Sis-A-Thon streaming marathon with Emiru at the Santa Monica Pier when a man approached them and offered to sing songs.

He then followed the streamers and eventually lunged at them, demanding to fight, but ultimately, the trio escaped.

After the incident, Valkyrae vowed to catch her alleged attacker, telling viewers: “If you have any information, I would like it. We are going to find him and I am going to do everything I can to get this guy.”

While the response to Hofstetter’s comments have been mostly positive, one user’s threatening remarks prompted a reaction from the 100 Thieves co-owner.

Valkyrae says she’ll “never” go out unarmed after stream sniper incident

In responses to a Dexerto tweet about the incident, one comment in particular caught Valkyrae’s attention about the situation sparked concerns.

The user threatened to “swing at” Valkyrae when he catches her “IRL”, and that she shouldn’t rely on the police for help.

Highlighting the post, the streamer responded. “All because we want as much information as possible on the stalker for the police report,” she said.

“I’ve always wondered what I would do if I were attacked and I always overconfidently imagined I would be able to defend myself and others, but that was with a weapon.”

“The stalker reached into his pockets multiple times which instinctively made me run. I’ll never be out without a taser/pepper gun ever again, I’ll never joke about being strong enough to handle being attacked again, and I’ll always take threats like this seriously.”

When another user called out the threatening comments, Valkyrae said she had screengrabbed everything they had posted.

This latest stream sniping incident has sparked waves of discussion across the industry, including calls for streamers to hire security to deal with stalkers and other attacks.
