Streaming stars Valkyrae and Cinna have given fans an update on their streaming marathon and safety after they were attacked by a man on stream.
Since the end of February, Valkyrae and Cinna have been taking part in a Sis-A-Thon, their own streaming marathon. They’ve been doing a whole host of different things during these broadcasts, including a few IRL streams.
However, during their March 2 broadcast, things took a turn. As they were out on Santa Monica Pier with Emiru, the streamers were approached by a man who demanded that they give him their phone numbers. This followed him ‘proposing’ to them by getting down on one knee and offering to sing songs.
The individual continued to follow them around too, before he ultimately lunged at them after demanding to fight. The streamers called for help from security as he chased them for a few moments before the stream was ultimately turned off.
Valkyrae & Cinna reassure fans after on-stream incident
Fans had been left in the dark for a little bit too. That was until a moderator in Cinna’s stream confirmed that they were being assisted by police.
“Hey everyone we are safe. Unfortunately, we have to end the marathon and need time to process what happened as we shock at the moment,” Cinna said a short while after the confrontation.
Rae echoed that too. “We are all ok and have been with police. We decided we are done with the marathon and need time to process! Thank you for all the love and support this past week, we had so much fun and hope you all enjoyed,” the 100 Thieves co-owner posted.
Plenty of fans and fellow streamers also chimed in, glad that the pair confirmed their safety after the incident.
“So glad you guys are safe,” Jack ‘CourageJD’ Dunlop said. “Glad you guys are safe that must’ve been so scary,” Fandy replied.
“So glad you guys are okay. Also glad you guys are taking time for yourselves. You both crushed it on the marathon,” BrookeAB added.
Valkyrae noted that the incident had scuppered some plans they had for the Sis-A-Thon, but those will be rescheduled for a later date.
“Please send love to emiru, Cinna, Rosi, and Emily! Everybody is in shock but I’m so glad were together,” she concluded.
