Twitch star Pokimane shocked fans after posting a photo of herself in the emergency room, revealing that she was suffering from simultaneous infections.
Late on the night of April 27, Imane ‘Pokimane‘ Anys shared a photo of herself laying in a hospital bed with an IV line attached to her right forearm.
The streamer explained that she was suffering from two infections at once, but assured viewers that she was being well taken care of and apologized for missing a broadcast.
“Sorry for lack of streams, I wound up in the ER and apparently have two different infections at once lol. They took super good care of me though, and I’ll be fine soon!”
Pokimane updates fans after cryptic hospital photo
She gave fans another update via her Instagram stories a few hours later, clarifying that she had both a viral and bacterial infection in her throat, joking that she was “very unlucky.”
Anys had been traveling in Shanghai during the time of her sickness, and praised the municipality for its clean and swift health care services.
“I was in the ER for 3 – 4 hours but wow, urgent care in Shanghai is incredibly clean, quick and convenient,” she wrote.

Doctors drew her blood for tests and gave her an IV drip filled with anti-inflammatory steroids, antibiotics and electrolytes. Pokimane said that she will continue to take prescription medication to treat her infections throughout the rest of the week and assured fans that she’ll “be a-okay ASAP.”
Commenters were quick to send their support to Anys as she recovers from her illness, urging her to rest and get well rather than hop back online for a stream while battling a sickness.
