Popular Twitch streamer Kyedae said she is “done” with streaming, announcing an indefinite break and claiming she even started to grow a “resentment toward it.”
Kyedae’s latest Twitch stream took place on April 12, 24 days after her last broadcast, which she opened with a concerning statement regarding the future of her presence on Twitch.
In the beginning of the stream, she admitted that she would be gone for a “pretty long time,” and even said she has “one foot out the door” after a fan asked if she was quitting streaming.
“I probably won’t be back to streaming for a while,” she said at the end of the broadcast. “Or, if you do see me, it’ll just be randomly, every once in a while. But yeah, I’m kind of done with streaming. Bye guys.”
The abrupt end to her stream left fans puzzled and worried — and now, a follow-up statement has confirmed she’ll be stepping away indefinitely.
Kyedae confirms indefinite Twitch break
“Stepping away from streaming is something I’ve been thinking about for years,” Kyedae said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Truthfully, streaming was never my dream or end goal.”
Ultimately, she viewed streaming as a distraction from her real desire of going to medical school. “I put that on the back burner to give streaming a real shot.” Over the years, she appeared to regret the choice, “growing a sense of resentment toward [streaming].”
“So I’ve made the decision to take an indefinite break from streaming. It’s what’s best for me right now, and honestly, I haven’t felt this happy and at peace in years.”

Kyedae retires from Twitch after health issues
In March 2023, Kyedae revealed that she’d been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a type of cancer that affects blood and bone marrow.
In September of that year, she announced that she had successfully completed chemotherapy, but explained that didn’t mean she was completely done with treatment for the condition.
Kyedae explained that part of the reason for stepping away from Twitch is indeed due to “recent health complications.”

In March 2024, streamer stepped away from 100 Thieves, an organization she’d been with for three years, seemingly ending their professional relationship on good terms.
And in June of that same year, Kyedae confirmed that Kick had reached out to her with a streaming contract after an ex-employee claimed the company had intentionally lowballed her due to her cancer diagnosis.
“Even if they did try to exploit me for my cancer… it doesn’t matter,” she said of the situation. “I’m not too bothered by it. It doesn’t really matter, because that platform’s f**king dying.”
Kyedae’s apparent retirement from streaming follows her fiancé, TenZ, retiring from competitive Valorant in 2024.
In fact, TenZ revealed that his break from streaming in early 2024 was to help Kyedae with her health, saying she was suffering from carpal tunnel during that time.
We’re sure to still see Kyedae popping up across social media in the near future, but fans won’t be able to tune in and watch her live anytime soon. “Thank you all for the support up to this point,” she concluded.
