ExtraEmily confronted by cops after viewer threatens her life in phone call to police

Twitch streamer ExtraEmily got a visit from the Austin police department after someone phoned in to the station making threats on her life during an IRL broadcast.

ExtraEmily is a popular streamer on Twitch, where she boasts over 468,000 followers who tune in for her upbeat personality and humorous collaborations with other influencers.

She’s known for doing a lot of IRL streams, where she ventures out in public to share her travels and activities with fans, such as her ‘Michelin Mondays’ restaurant reviews or trips to the gun range.

On Tuesday, April 29, Emily opened up her own hot dog stand, where she gave away free meals to passersby in Austin, Texas.

Police urge ExtraEmily to move stream after viewer calls in threat

However, she was greeted by two police officers about two and a half hours into her broadcast, who informed her that someone had threatened her life and urged her to move her hot dog stand to another location.

“You’re not in any trouble right now, but I’m just gonna be honest with you — someone called in threatening to harm you,” one officer explained.

After muting her camera to give them more information, Emily returned to her stream, telling viewers (in her usual peppy manner) that she would simply have to find another spot for her impromptu hot dog giveaway.

“They were very nice! Super nice, but I will probably move. All good. They were just making sure I was okay,” she said. “No ticket, no fine.”

While Emily was able to take the threat in stride like water off a duck’s back, viewers on social media were left shocked at the situation, with many claiming they would have stopped streaming immediately and gone home.

That wasn’t the wildest thing that happened to Emily that day, though. Later on in her stream, she informed viewers that a strange note had been placed her Tesla from someone calling themselves ‘Sam.’

However, one of her neighbors had also gotten a similar note, but his security footage showed that two women had placed the paper on his Tesla, not a man.

The neighbor believed that the women were targeting Tesla owners to see if they could steal their cars, leaving Emily totally frightened that she was potentially being “stalked” or cased by thieves.

This is just the latest scary incident to happen to Emily over the last two months. In March, she was reviewing a local restaurant with fellow streamer Emiru when they were approached by a stalker who took a photo of them, forcing Emiru to tell the viewer to back off.

This is just one of numerous dangerous incidents to happen to female broadcasters as of late, with Emiru, Valkyrae and Cinna getting attacked by a male viewer who threatened to “kill” the women during an IRL stream in early March.
