Streaming star Amouranth has updated fans after experiencing an armed robbery in which she says she was pulled from her bed and pistol whipped.
On March 2, at 11:55 pm ET, Amouranth took to X to share real-time updates about the incident, saying the gun-wielding assailants demanded cryptocurrency.
“I’m being too robbed at gunpoint,” she wrote, adding, “I believe I shot one of them. They wanted crypto is what they were yelling. They pulled me out of bed.”
She referred to the event as a “home invasion swat” and urged fans to understand it was “not a prank.” About 30 minutes later, Amouranth revealed that one of the intruders pistol-whipped her, causing significant bleeding.
“They pistol-whipped me, but I got one,” she wrote at 12:33 am ET on March 3. “I’m bleeding a lot but stable. Going to hospital.”
The 31-year-old also shared a video of police cars outside her gated home and reassured fans she was safe despite the ordeal.
Amouranth addressed questions about why she posted online instead of calling for help. According to the streamer, the intruders forced her to log in to X at gunpoint. “They gave me a phone and said log in with a gun to my head and I tweeted because calling would be a death sentence,” she explained.
In a follow-up, Amouranth shared a video of the three gunmen following her into her streaming room off to the side of her house.
You can see her enter before gunshots cause the robbers to run away from the building.
According to a police spokesperson, it was in fact Amouranth’s husband who fired the shots at the attackers.
Former SWAT officer confirms robbery
In a post on X, Former South Carolina SWAT officer turned YouTuber DonutOperator revealed that he “spoke to some folks” and dispelled rumors that the robbery was staged or otherwise fake.
Confirming DonutOperators claim, the Houston Police Officer’s Union made a post on X revealing that they are looking for people who have information on the armed robbers.
The incident occurred the same night as three other streamers, Valkyrae, Cinna, and Emiru, were attacked and threatened by a ‘stream sniper’ while they were broadcasting IRL (in real life), raising even wider concern for the safety of popular streamers.
In other news, Amouranth recently made headlines by announcing that she is hiring a male boxer to fight on her behalf by “proxy.”
