You might be wondering how The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon – two shows that aren’t on the air anymore – can have a new crossover, but an NBC show has made the magic happen.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Sheldon’s main and sequel shows have been passing ships in the night. You might remember seeing George Cooper on tape in Season 12 episode ‘The VCR Illumination,’ trying to tie together both shows after George’s character wildly differed.
On top of this, actor Lance Barber had a previous role of Jimmy Speckerman in TBBT, while Mary actresses Laurie Metcalf and Zoe Perry are mother and daughter in real life. But what if both shows could kick their crossovers up a notch?
Well, NBC has answered the call. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage might be taking most of the attention, but The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon are being reunited somewhere else.
Young Sheldon and Big Bang Theory set for Night Court crossover
Move over, CBS – NBC is taking things from here. The Night Court reboot has its two-hour Season 3 finale this week, bringing together Melissa Rauch (TBBT’s Bernadette) and Raegan Revord (Young Sheldon’s Missy).

In an Instagram clip, Rauch is seen saying to Revord, “I’ve been thinking all week… I have an old friend who has a twin sister who looks just like you.” “That’s so weird,” Revord replies. “I wonder if… hmm. Nah.”
We’ve also got Simon Helberg joining the guest stars, who played Howard in TBBT. Basically, Night Court Season 3 is gunning for a two-tiered reunion.
As the official synopsis tells us, “The season finale of #NightCourt goes out with a BANG, reuniting with the genius of Simon Helberg!
“This special two episode finale event crosses the Big Bang Theory universe even further with the Young Sheldon’s phenomenal [Raegan Revord] paying tribute to the classic Michael J. Fox teen runaway episode from the OG Night Court, as well as the absolutely incredible [Michael Urie] and the icon that is the amazing [Marsha Warfield].”
Revord might be paying tribute to the original series, which ran from 1984-1992, but there’s another link for hardcore fans. Missy is technically also a runaway teen, stealing George’s car to try and get to Florida for spring break back in Season 6.
Missy took Paige with her, but was pulled over by cops before they could actually get anywhere. Her teenage rebellion is still in full swing on the Georgie & Mandy spinoff, most recently running away to Mexico with the boy she wanted to marry.
Spoilers… she also didn’t make it. The Night Court Season 3 finale airs on May 6, 2025, on NBC at 8.30pm ET/PT.
