What time is You Season 5 out on Netflix?

Joe Goldberg in You Season 5

Hello… You Season 5, which is hours away from dropping on Netflix and bringing Joe Goldberg’s creepy, blood-soaked story to an end.

In 2019, Joe’s story began. He was a quiet bookstore manager who developed a crush on one of his customers. Little did we know that it’d be the launchpad for a story that’s taken five years of murderous, obsessive chaos to reach its final chapter.

In the new season, Joe finally returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after with Kate. However, in typical You style, “his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”

In other words, another woman enters the picture and the grass looks greener on the other side again.

You Season 5 release time on Netflix

You Season 5 will be available to stream on Netflix at 12am PT/3am ET on Thursday, April 24.

Thankfully, the whole season is dropping all at once, so you won’t need to wait for Part 2 like when Wednesday Season 2 comes out later this year. For other time zones, check out the list below:

  • 2am CST
  • 4am Brazil
  • 8am UK
  • 9am Central European Summer Time
  • 12:30pm India Standard Time
  • 4pm China
  • 5pm Australia
  • 7pm New Zealand

This is the standard release time for the vast majority of Netflix projects, with two exceptions: live events, like WWE fights and Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, and anime shows, which usually drop in line with when they air in Japan.

How many episodes are there?

Kate and Joe in You Season 5 on Netflix

You Season 5 has a total of 10 episodes, and they’ll all drop on April 24, so you can binge the whole season.

This is the exact same episode count as the You’s previous seasons, but one thing is certain: it’s going out definitively and with a bang.

“It’s so rare that you’re afforded the opportunity to do five seasons of a show, let alone complete the story – while also bringing your character and the production back to where it all began,” co-showrunners Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo said.

“We always said that we would stop after five and [that], in a perfect world, we would bring Joe back home to New York. We loved the idea of things coming full circle for him. We’re excited by the fact that Joe came home as such a different person than [who] we saw in Season 1. At the core of our final story for Joe is this dichotomy of the old and the new.”

Penn Badgley also hyped up the new season, saying: “Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant.

“And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
