ParamountYellowstone shows rarely appear on Netflix, but the streaming service just added 1883 – the best of the bunch.
Netflix’s addition of 1883 is truly a gift from the streaming gods. 1923 Season 2 might currently be occupying the airwaves as we approach the end of this Harrison Ford era of Duttons, but any good Yellowstone fan knows that 1883 is the best of the best.
Following James Dutton and his family as they travel across the country to reach Oregon (accompanied by a wagon trail of inexperienced European immigrants), the prequel series is a tale of family, survival, and ambition.
It’s truly some of Taylor Sheridan‘s best work to date, and thankfully, you can watch it on Netflix now with one neat trick.
1883 is now on Netflix in the UK
As of March 12, 1883 is now on Netflix in the UK, so if you’ve got a VPN, you can watch it on the platform without having to sign up to Paramount+.
It’s pretty easy to do – just change your location to the UK on your VPN and sign into Netflix as normal.
Paramount+The 1883 addition follows on from the UK getting the flagship Yellowstone series earlier this year, so you can watch 1883 and then revisit the modern day-set series. (That’s one way to get through the Yellowstone timeline.)
The prequel series is widely regarded as the best installment in the franchise. Not only does it have high stakes and some of the best scenes in the entire Dutton universe, but it’s also only 10 episodes, so you could binge it in a day if you wanted to.
Plus, it’s got some incredible A-list cameos. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and Billy Bob Thornton (the Landman himself) all appear throughout the miniseries, which makes this one Western show you simply have to watch.
