Paramount1923 Season 2 has only just started, but Yellowstone fans already have one criticism with a small detail that’s left them feeling historically unsatisfied.
For the record, 1923 isn’t based on real events. The Duttons are fictional, as is their famous ranch. You only need to watch a few of the over-the-top, dramatic twists to work that one out.
That said, the latest season of Taylor Sheridan’s show may contain a few references to real-life figures here and there. Even so, Yellowstone fans have never been too concerned with fact vs. fiction.
However, conversation has sparked around one small but noticeable detail concerning the cast members of the show, and it might be breaking the reality.
1923 viewers can’t ignore cast’s “perfect” teeth
Following the 1923 Season 2 premiere, fans have gone online to note how some of the cast members have perfect teeth, which wouldn’t even be remotely close to how their characters would look in real life.
“I love the actress and she’s killing her role,” one Reddit user said about Teonna Rainwater. “When she smiles though all I can focus on is her super white gorgeous perfect smile. She’s not the only one, many have these gorgeous teeth. Does anyone else notice such things?”
Evidently, it’s a detail other 1923 viewers have picked up on, too. Another user wrote, “Spencer would definitely have some nicotine stains and chipped teeth by now.”
ParamountA third added, “I actually get it the most with Alex. Julia’s absolutely stunning and gorgeous big smile. Love it so much but it’s like otherworldly perfect and white.”
But it’s not just 1923. Another Yellowstone prequel, 1883, is worthy of the same criticism, according to fans. “Yeah the perfect teeth of the Duttons in 1883… jarring.”
“When I watch older movies, basically anything before 2000, you really notice how everyone’s teeth are not bright white,” one person pointed out.
It’s an issue for some more than others, however. As one comment noted, “I did notice this last night but I suspend reality when I watch TV.”
