There’s a sneaky way to watch Peacemaker Season 2 for free

For Chris Smith, peace comes at any cost, but if you’re excited for Peacemaker Season 2 and don’t want to pay for another subscription, there’s one (pretty laborious) way to watch it for free.

The streaming service bubble has already burst. Netflix was ahead of the curve, Prime Video is arguably its main rival (other than YouTube), but other platforms have been forced to team up and offer bundles; for example, Disney Plus is effectively absorbing Hulu next year.

HBO Max (formerly… HBO Max and Max, now back to its first name) has a lot going for it. Specifically, it has all of HBO’s beloved programming, whether it’s Game of Thrones, Succession, or The Sopranos, and a huge selection of classic movies. Plus, it’ll also be Superman’s first streaming destination.

However, if you’ve already got a smattering of direct debits, perhaps you don’t want to commit to another monthly bill just to watch Peacemaker Season 2. Well, we have a (temporary) solution.

If you don’t have a HBO Max subscription, you can access it via a 10-day free trial to YouTube TV.

Before you ask, HBO Max doesn’t offer free trials. So, here’s what you need to do. Go to the YouTube TV homepage and click the “Try 10 days for $0” button. You’ll be asked to sign in to your YouTube account (which probably means just linking your Google account).

You’ll be taken to a screen that looks like this:

Now, scroll down until you find the “ADD TO MEMBERSHIP” section. Find a show that airs on HBO or HBO Max, and from there, it’s pretty simple to add it to your plan in your free trial period.

As Google says, “you can also sign up to try extra networks, like HBO Max or Spanish Plus, before adding these to your YouTube TV membership.”

However, there are three things you need to consider. Firstly, there are eight episodes in Peacemaker Season 2, which means if you sign up for a 10-day free trial, you’ll only get to watch two episodes. So, you’ll either need to use your free trial to watch two episodes and then sign up to watch the rest or wait until the last two weeks so you can binge them all in the free trial period.

Secondly, if you go through with this, you must remember to cancel before your free trial period ends (your access to HBO Max could be shorter than 10 days as well, so make sure you check). If you don’t, a YouTube TV subscription will set you back at least $49.99 per month, which goes up to $82.99 after three months.

Thirdly, for the sake of simplicity, you should probably weigh up whether you could afford to sign up for HBO Max. The cheapest plan is $9.99 per month, which is ad-supported, so it’ll cost less than $20 to watch all eight episodes of Season 2 on a weekly basis.

Plus, Superman is expected to drop on streaming in late September, so you should get a chance to (re)watch it before the finale.

To reiterate, the simplest and most risk-free way to watch Season 2 is to join HBO Max. The YouTube free trial method is available to you, but it’s a lot of effort to watch only two episodes.

Before it premieres on August 21, here’s everything you need to watch before Peacemaker Season 2. You can also check out our list of every upcoming DCU project.
