For a long while, The Way Home Season 4‘s renewal status was up in the air. Turns out fans didn’t need to be worried at all, thanks to one incredible Hallmark record.
Plagued with news of declining viewership and storylines that felt a little too near the knuckle, it seemed as though The Way Home Season 3 would be the last. Thankfully, Season 4 was confirmed just before the finale aired.
As far as storylines are concerned, we’ve got a lot to cover in new episodes, which will drop on The Hallmark Channel in 2026. Where did Jacob go? How is Casey both a future Landry and Goodwin? Who on Earth is Sam? And what is Grandma Fern actually going on about?
We’re going to get our burning questions answered, that’s for sure. But now The Way Home Season 4 is official, Hallmark has revealed why there was no reason to ever be worried.
The Way Home was Hallmark’s most-watched show among its key audience
According to a Hallmark press release, The Way Home Season 3 was the number one most-watched program on entertainment cable among women aged 25-54 (translated, that’s the show’s core audience).

Let’s run down the third season’s achievements. It was the most-watched original program overall, repeats included, with Women 25-54; number with Households, Women 18+ and 18-49. It was also the most-watched program on a Friday among these same demographics.
In addition, the Hallmark Channel was crowned the number one most-watched network in Weekend Total Day among Households, Women 18+, and Persons 18+. In short, that’s a lot of eyeballs on something we were initially told had declined in average views by half.
There’s a simple explanation for why the initial reports seem to vary so much from what we’re being told in hindsight. Lots of these figures include varying levels of repeats and how much each episode is watched on a streaming service.

Make your guidelines on what to include different depending on who’s reporting and you’ve got the mother of all mish-mashes. Regardless, this is all good news for The Way Home Season 4.

Instead of heading into a new series with a sense of trepidation, fans can rest assured that their favorite program is performing well. It’s also more likely Season 4 will continue with the same release strategy – debut on The Hallmark Channel first before heading to Hallmark+ the next day.
However, nothing other than the fact Season 4 exists has officially been confirmed yet. We’ve still got to wait to find out an exact release window, how many episodes we’ll get, and whether the binge-worthy TV show has been relegated to streaming only.
