Ponderers… your efforts are working. The Way Home creators have finally spoken out on the Season 4 petition, and it’s gone down well.
We’re only one day away from The Way Home Season 3 finale, but really our minds are elsewhere. After tomorrow – and I’m sorry to remind you of this – it’s all over, and there’s no official word on what comes next.
Season 4 still hasn’t officially been renewed, and that’s making fans anxious. So much so, they’ve decided to take the fate of the binge-worthy TV show into their own hands. Social media engagement has ramped up, and the petition has garnered thousands of signatures
But what does The Way Home think about all this? Luckily for us, the showrunners have finally broken their silence, and all the effort is well and truly appreciated.
The Way Home creators ‘touched’ by growing Season 4 petition
Speaking to Collider, The Way Home creators Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke said: “It’s been so incredible seeing the fan reaction this season. It’s really touched us. They’re putting petitions up… I just think it’s so, so kind and so amazing, and we’re so flattered.”

“I think every little bit helps,” Clarke added. “I can’t imagine that it doesn’t. I certainly have the Change.org page on my phone, and I’m refreshing it all the time to see the number go up, the number of signatures. It’s so lovely, it’s the greatest compliment.”
Conkie continued: “The support from the fans right from the get-go has been astounding, and they have caused change in the past, so I think they should keep their fingers crossed that they can cause change now.”
It’s not just the crew that has noticed, either. Evan Williams, who plays Elliot, wrote on X/Twitter: “It’s really warmed my heart to see all the beautiful posts and petitions calling for S4 of #TheWayHome! WE LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! IMO one of the best ways to support: Rate the show! (Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB etc). These are the spots ppl check when deciding if they’ll watch.”

By this point, every Ponderer knows there’s a heavy effort to get The Way Home Season 4 off the ground. Typically, seasons would have been renewed by this many episodes in, and after declining viewership, things aren’t looking great for Port Haven.
The show is now struggling to get an average of more than 600,000, pulling in over 1 million by the Season 2 finale. To compare, When Calls the Heart Season 12 is currently maintaining an average of 1.2 million.
No decision has been made yet, but changes could include Season 4 being exclusive to streaming and having a more limited run. You can still sign the petition here.
