The Way Home Season 3 finale needs to answer just one question

Jacob in The Way Home Season 3

How could anyone possibly choose from the ever-growing mountain of mysteries Hallmark has given us? Turns out, The Way Home Season 3 finale only needs to answer one.

In an ideal world, we’d have every single loose end tied up when The Way Home draws to a close in two weeks. However, there’s absolutely no way Hallmark is going to indulge us that much.

We’ve still got no idea if Season 4 is going to get picked up, meaning there’s a likely chance some questions will never be answered at all. So, if we had to choose what we wanted answered the most, what would it be?

Jacob’s return and Colton’s time-traveling truth are all well and good, but there’s another mystery fans want to be solved more in The Way Home Season 3 finale.

The Way Home Season 3 finale needs to solve the “KC” mystery

If you’ve been watching since the beginning, you’ll know the initials “KC” have been popping out just about everywhere. It’s something that’s never been directly addressed, and the least The Way Home Season 3 finale could do is offer an explanation.

Alice comforts Kat in The Way Home

Of course, there are about a million existing theories about who the mysterious KC could be. The obvious answer is Casey Goodwin, given KC and Casey sound exactly alike. KC is a signature Kat has found across old documents, and now we know Casey has been time-traveling from the future, this could fit.

However, the link to the 1800s could also be a lot more direct. KC could, in fact, mean Katherine Cassandra, two names we know derive from Kat’s time spent in the past. It could also translate to Katherine Coyle, meaning Kat and Thomas’ relationship does indeed take off.

Coyle is Thomas’ last name, and so far it’s been difficult to tie any other characters to his background. Given the fact she can’t seem to stay away from him, it’s not too far-fetched to suggest a marriage between timelines.

But there’s more. As one fan suggested, “C – Cassandra is also a Goodwin family name. Or Kassandra. KC – Keely Cole (witness and author shown in the show at various times.) Katherine Cole, Colton, Coyle.”

Until The Way Home provides some answers, speculation will go round and round until everyone in Port Haven has been suggested. But will the finale honor what the fans want?
