The second season of the hit video game adaptation picks up five years later, with Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) leading peaceful but estranged lives; does she know that he lied to him about the Fireflies and what happened at the hospital?
However, according to the synopsis, they’re “drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

What time does The Last of Us Season 2 air?
The Last of Us Season 2 premieres on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT on HBO.
It will be available on HBO’s TV channel and Max at the same time, so feel free to watch it whenever suits you best. If you’re in the UK, you’ll need a Sky or Now TV subscription to watch it, and if you’re in Canada, you’ll need to sign up for Crave.

How many episodes are there?
HBOThere are only seven episodes in The Last of Us Season 2.
That’s a step down from Season 1’s run of nine episodes, especially when most HBO shows tend to have between 8-10 episodes (Dune: Prophecy is a recent exception).
Speaking to Game Informer, the original game’s creator Neil Druckmann explained: “The reason, for example, we have seven episodes is not because anybody told us, ‘Do seven’ or do any particular number.
“It was that we looked at the entire story that was left in front of us that we wanted to tell and that seventh episode is going to be the breaking point for this story, and then we pick it up in the following season from that point.”
