Tramell Tillman needs to play this villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Tramell Tillman, best known for his role as Mr Milchick in Severance, is joining the MCU in Spider-Man: Brand New Day – and, if fans get their way, this is who he should play.

Tillman is a near-unanimous fan favorite in Severance, and for good reason. It’s a one-of-a-kind performance in a show full of off-kilter characters, and his icy yet genteel (not to mention verbose) demeanor has delivered some of its best moments.

Now, both Severance and Marvel fans have the perfect excuse to come together for a music dance experience: he’s joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in a “mysterious new role”, as per Variety.

So, who could it be? Well, there are loads of options, and there’s always a possibility that he’s playing someone a bit underwhelming (like Ant-Man 3 wasting William Jackson Harper). But what if he’s been tapped for a big role?

Everyone wants Tramell Tillman as Norman Osborn in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

After news of Tillman’s casting in Spider-Man: Brand New Day reached social media, there’s been a widespread demand among fans: they want him to play Norman Osborn.

To be clear, this barely even qualifies as speculation – it’s just something people want to see. Very little has been confirmed about Brand New Day beyond the inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and the return of Zendaya as MJ. Sadie Sink is in it, but nobody knows who she’s playing.

However, after No Way Home, the prospect of the MCU introducing another Norman is intriguing. Willem Dafoe reprised his role and returned to his own universe, so Tom Holland’s Peter already knows who he is – and a future film would (probably) lean into the inevitability of Norman’s Green Goblin descent.

Colman Domingo voiced Norman in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a Disney Plus series that doesn’t take place in the main MCU timeline. Domingo is a fantastic actor, but as a few people have pointed out, he’s already 55, which is 10 years older than Willem Dafoe when he was first cast.

Tillman is 40, and beyond qualifying his age, he’d be perfect for the role. Not only is he a rising star (anyone who watched Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning only had good things to say about his brief appearance), but his extremely distinct charisma (kind, charming, but also incredibly intimidating) would pair phenomenally with Norman and, eventually, the Green Goblin.

“I love Colman Domingo but Tramell Tillman Norman Osborn could heal me on all fronts,” one user wrote. “I’ll say it now as much as I love Colman in the animated series. Tramell Tillman would be an out-of-this-world choice for Norman,” another posted.

“I tapped out of Marvel a while ago but Tramell Tillman Norman Osborn will unfortunately be my undoing,” a third wrote. “If Tramell Tillman is Norman Osborn I will never say another bad thing about MCU Spider-Man as long as I live,” a fourth tweeted.

If you disagree, I have two words for you: devour feculence.
