NetflixThe Sidemen’s new reality contest Inside Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, so here’s details of every challenge in the show, including the latest, ‘Wheel of Mystery.’
Inside Season 1 was a massive hit for the Sidemen on YouTube, and Inside Season 2 is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
Episode 1 see influencers George Clarke, Mandi Vakili, FaZe Jason, Whitney Adebayo, Cinna, Farah, PK Humble, Milli Jo, Dylan Page, Mya Mills, DDG, and Patrice Evra confined to a house for a week, during which time they compete in a series of challenges to win $1 million.
Fail the challenge and money is taken from that prize fund, while basics like food, drink, and entertainment also cost money that comes off the total. Each episode features a challenge, which we’ll be listing below when they drop daily, with the full Inside release schedule here.
Challenge 1: Insider Dating
NetflixIn Episode 1, the first challenge was called ‘Internet Dating,’ and played before DDG and Patrice Evra joined the crew, so there were just 10 contestants. Here’s how the Sidemen described the game…
Simon: “In today’s challenge, you’ll be getting to know each other. But to pass the challenge and save losing money from the prize fund, you must simply ask each other two questions.”
Tobi: “It’s not quite that simple. You must answer your questions while enduring a distraction. Or you can bail by just hitting that red buzzer there.”
NetflixKSI: “Each Insider on the date will have a menu containing two questions to ask, and also what distraction you will be served.”
Simon: “So if you decide to bail and hit the red buzzer, or you don’t answer your questions to our satisfaction, you will fail the challenge, and you will lose £10,000 from the pot.”
The contestants did the challenge in pairs, and the questions were relatively straightforward, from what’s your worst dating story to what do you earn in a month to what would you do if you were invisible for a day. “Snog, marry, avoid,” got asked, as well as who is the most famous person to slide into your DMs, with Chris Brown the surprise answer there.
NetflixBut the challenge was really all about the distractions, and they were as follows:
- Distraction 1: Rats crawling all over you.
- Distraction 2: Having your ear pierced.
- Distraction 3: Chickens pecking worms on your hands.
- Distraction 4: Spiders being placed on your head.
- Distraction 5: Electric shocks.
They were nearly all successful, with Whitney the only contestant to press the buzzer, flinging a poor spider across the room in the process. Meaning the Insiders only lost £10,000 from their prize pot.
Challenge 2: Don’t Make a Sound
In Episode 2, the contestants head to the Challenger Arena for ‘Don’t Make a Sound.’ Here’s how the game is described: “The Insiders will be given a card each at random. If their card is a skull, then they have been selected for the upcoming challenge.
“The goal of the game is to not make a sound as the challenge is carried out, but that’s not just for the selected Insider, that goes for the entire team. Any sound will result in money lost from the prize pool.”
- Game 1: Cake slung into contestant’s face.
George, Whitney, and Farah make noise by laughing, thereby breaking the rules, so £10,000 is deducted from the prize fund.
- Game 2: Pop balloons without using hands while wearing drunk goggles.
Milli makes noise during this one, but because of PK’s “amazing flavor”, it’s allowed.
- Game 2: Transport liquid while enduring electric shocks.
Challenge completed, but £20,000 is removed from the pot because of Mandi’s “clear and obvious” violations.
- Game 3: Snap elastic bands on calves.
Challenge completed, but Whitney, Milli, and George make noise, so £10,000 is deducted from fund.
- Game 4: Slam pie into face.
George pies a Sideman, so £20,000 is deducted from the total.
- Game 5: Endure snake placed on you.
Challenge complete, so no money removed. Meaning the contestants lost a total of £60,000 during Don’t Make a Sound.
Challenge 3: Wheel of Mystery
NetflixThe instructions for Challenge 3, as per KSI: “Each Insider will be asked up to the spinning dinner table one at a time, where they will be presented with a tough question as well as a mystery task under a cloche. If they do not answer the questions, they will lose the money. If they do not complete the task, they will lose even more money.”
The questions include who is the most boring, ugliest, least successful, and most toxic housemate, and the contestants breeze through them. The tasks are more challenging:
- Task 1: Drink Sidemen Sundae containing hot sauce and ice-cream
- Task 2: Shave one eyebrow
- Task 3: Eat lamb testicles
- Task 4: Dress as a banana for 24 hours
- Task 5: Handcuff yourself to someone until bedtime
- Task 6: Drink fish martini
- Task 7: Brush teeth with spicy mouthwash
- Task 8: Eat octopus tentacle
- Task 9: Eat bug sushi
- Task 10: Eat ox tongue
- Task 11: Eat chicken hearts
Only Cinna fully fails her task, refusing to shave off an eyebrow, and the challenge ends with the Insiders losing £15,000.
