Jenna Ortega’s new movie with Wednesday’s Percy Hynes White drops first trailer and fans are baffled

Percy Hynes White may no longer be in Wednesday Season 2, but he’s still working with Jenna Ortega. The pair’s new movie just dropped its first trailer, and fans can’t believe what they’re seeing.

A number of months after the first season of Netflix‘s hit TV show aired, Hynes White was accused of inappropriate behavior, including allegedly sending images to minors, a recording of him appearing to use a racial slur, and multiple assaults. The actor denied the “false” allegations, branding them part of a “campaign of misinformation.”

The streaming service then confirmed his character would be written out of the show, but surprisingly, this wouldn’t be the last time Hynes White would work with the show’s lead, Jenna Ortega.

The pair stars opposite each other in Paramount’s new movie, Winter Spring Summer or Fall. Dropping on its streaming service on April 25, fans already can’t believe what they’re seeing.

Reactions to Winter Spring Summer or Fall’s first trailer are already rolling in thick and fast, with fans baffled by the pair working together.

“My jaw dropped,” one posted on X/Twitter, with a second replying, “Is that who I think it is?!”

“I wasn’t aware this was even happening,” a third weighed in, with a fourth adding: “WHEN THE CAMERA TURNED AND I SAW WHO SHE WAS TALKING TO… I screamed loudly, closed my laptop, and just sat there.”

As the original poster explains, the new movie was actually filmed around two years ago, opening for the first time at Tribeca Film Festival in June 2024. A casting announcement was first made in December 2022.

While actual critical reviews from its debut are few and far between – it’s currently got a 36% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes for reference – rumors allegedly suggest Ortega removed her credit as an executive producer before the movie got any public marketing.

She’s also staying incredibly quiet on socials instead of engaging in any promotion or press around the project. Of course, it should be noted that any issues or rumors are pure speculation.

As for the movie itself, it follows Remi and Barnes, two very different teenagers. They meet by chance in the winter of their senior year, then spend four days together over the course of a year that “will change their lives forever.”

Hynes White still has two further films in separate stages of post-production.
