House of the Dragon Season 3 may be a year or so away, but one cast member has already started spreading spoilers.
According to the website RedanianIntelligence.com, Steve Toussaint, who plays the Sea Snake, Corlys Velaryon, shared an image from Season 3 table read, which he didn’t realize contained a cast list for the third episode of the upcoming season.
This list included almost every major character, but there are a few notable exceptions, which suggest the Grim Reaper (surely we mean The Stranger?) will be making another visit to Westeros, and that spells tragedy for the Greens and Blacks. Warning spoilers ahead!
Don’t fear the Reaper

Both Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) and Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collett) are missing from the roll call, which means, in all likelihood, both characters have finally met their end. Now, Jace’s untimely passing will hardly be surprising to those who’ve read Fire and Blood or kept up to date on the House of the Dragon production.
It’s been widely reported that Season 3 will open with the Battle of the Gullet, a brutal battle that sees the Greens try to break House Velaryon’s blockade of King’s Landing. Sadly (for those who support the true Queen at least) while the Greens were ultimately unsuccessful they did manage to kill Prince Jacaerys and his dragon Vermax.
Jace’s absence from the character list likely means that Collett’s time on the show has come to an end. But what about Otto? Well, in Fire and Blood, he’s executed by Rhaenyra soon after the Battle of the Gullet, but it’s worth noting that the House of the Dragon showrunners have taken some creative liberties with Otto’s story.

In the show he’s been taken prisoner, which never happened in the book. Now, it’s likely that whoever captured the former Hand of the King is loyal to Rhaenyra and is about to deliver him to her on a silver platter, but who knows? Perhaps Otto will manage to talk his way off the executioner’s block?
It should be noted that one other character who’s missing is Aemond Targaryen, and we don’t think he’s shuffled off this mortal coil just yet. He’s just not in episode 3, presumably because he’s busy pouting somewhere and wishing he was half as cool as Daemon? Perhaps the same is true for Otto (about not being in the ep, not the pouting); we just don’t know. But what we do know is that Steve Toussaint needs to put his phone away when he’s at work.
