The Fantastic Four have taken their ‘First Steps’ onto the list of the year’s biggest movies, cracking the Top 10 by overtaking another Marvel film.
2024 was an interesting year in cinemas, with animated movies like Inside Out 2, Moana 2, Despicable Me 4, and Kung Fu Panda 4 all making a mint, while Deadpool & Wolverine was the biggest non-animated effort.
That was part of the Marvel Cinematic universe, and 2025 has been a fascinating year for the studio, with Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and Fantastic Four: First Steps all hitting screens within months of each other. Meanwhile, DC has planted its flag in the ground via James Gunn’s new Superman movie.
So, the following is a list of the films that have been packing them in since January 1, 2025.

That gross is set to rise this month, with an English-language release featuring Michelle Yeoh hitting US screens on August 22. While Weapons is making big bucks, and could yet creep onto the Top 10.
