Fire Country Season 3 won’t return until April 2025 and there’s a frustrating reason

If you’re wondering why Fire Country Season 3 isn’t on CBS this week, there’s a simple reason – but it’s also a frustrating one.

Manny could be dead, Gabriela’s still in love with Bode, and Bode’s on a mission to turn his life around after Coach Drew gave him access to pain meds. All in all, Fire Country is as dramatic as ever.

On top of this, the team only just lost Rafael and Birch, and is still getting to grips with the prospect of Three Rock being in danger. But we won’t know what happens next in the binge-worthy TV show for quite a while.

Why? It’s an answer that goes back to CBS programming, and certain Fire Country fans are going to be frustrated.

Fire Country Season 3 is on hiatus for March Madness

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 isn’t coming back until April 4, 2025, thanks to CBS coverage of March Madness. Other shows such as Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage are also being affected.

For those unfamiliar, March Madness is a key part of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament. Playing off 68 teams in single-elimination tournaments, it’s not surprising that basketball is taking up a fair bit of the rest of the month. If you’re not into sports, that isn’t the best news.

This means episodes that typically would have aired on March 21 and March 28 are now being held for three weeks – but because March Madness is something that happens annually, our expected Season 3 finale date shouldn’t be affected.

Annoyingly, there are no official details about Episode 16 yet, but we can hazard a guess for what’s about to happen.

Station 42 will definitely be trying to find out more about Oxalta, and if it was a major factor in Birch’s death. If it was, there will be hell to pay from both the station and Three Rock.

This is also likely to affect Jake’s budding romance with Violet, with the outcome splitting them down the middle regardless of how involved Oxalta was.
