Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has already been green-lit by Marvel, and we have a rough idea of when it will be released on Disney Plus.
It’s been a long journey for Marvel’s Man Without Fear. After the Netflix offshoot of the MCU was axed, fans tirelessly campaigned for the return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
They partly succeeded, at first, with Matt Murdock and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) appearing in several Marvel projects in the lead-up to Daredevil: Born Again, a brutal revival of the original series.
Episode 9, the finale, just dropped on Disney Plus, and viewers are already hungry for the second season. Thankfully, we may not need to wait too long to see it.
Is there a Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 release date?

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to be released by summer 2026, but it doesn’t have an exact release date right now.
Marvel’s TV chief Brad Winderbaum told ScreenRant that the plan is for Born Again to become an annual release – in other words, Season 2 in 2026, Season 3 in 2027, and so on.
“Season 2 will come out next year, and then hopefully Season 3 and season infinity after that. I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York,” he said.
Production on the second season officially kicked off in February 2025, and it’s expected to run through July. However, a big question remains: will it come out before Avengers: Doomsday in May, between that and Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July, or sometime after?
Given there aren’t any confirmed release dates on Marvel’s schedule before Doomsday, March 2026 seems like a safe bet for Season 2.
Who’s in the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 cast?

Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, reprising his role alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page. The cast is also expected to include:
- Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher
- Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk
- Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye
- Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
- Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie
- Clark Johnson as Cherry
- Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake
- Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera
- Genneya Walton as BB Urich
- Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman
Elden Henson is also expected to appear as Foggy, but unless the series pulls a major U-turn, it’ll be in flashbacks. “Without going into spoiler territory, I will say that both Deborah [Ann Woll] and Elden [Henson] are coming back for Season 2,” Brad Winderbaum told Brandon Davis.
Will the Defenders return in Season 2?

There’s a chance we could see Matt reunite with the Defenders in Season 2, given how Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again ends. Plus, the cast are keen to come back.
By the end of the first season, Fisk wages war on every vigilante in New York, either capturing them or having them executed by his task force. Matt decides to gather an army to fight back – which is a great way to reintroduce Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage to the MCU.
Appearing on CBS Mornings, Krysten Ritter was asked about a potential return to the franchise. “Listen, I love Jessica Jones. I think it’s so exciting that there seems to be such an appetite to see her again,” she said.
“I get asked about it almost every day. We remain cautiously optimistic. If they asked me, I would be there ready. I may or may not have the jacket that I stole from set.”
Cage actor Mike Colter is hopeful too. “I still have hopes for it. I don’t think about it anymore. I think there’s always time. I don’t think it’s impossible. Anything can happen,” he told Collider.
Finn Jones, who played Danny Rand (aka Iron Fist), appeared at an anime convention in Mexico, where he noted the “critiques of the character and [his] role in it.”
“My response to that is like, give me a f**king chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen,” he said.
What will happen in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

While we don’t have any official plot details, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to follow Matt’s efforts to take down Kingpin – which may include a team-up with Bullseye, if leaked photos are to be believed.
We also know Matt will have a new suit in the second season: all black, with a red DD logo.
Executive producer Sana Amanat teased: “It’s been great. We’ve been shooting a lot of crazy sequences. The crew is crushing it, and the action is nonstop. The backdrop is a little different. It’s still New York, but it’s a slightly different kind of New York.
“I’m very excited about the material we’ve been getting. I’ve been fangirling all week. We shot a really big sequence with Wilson Fisk this week, and I felt like a kid in a candy shop.”
Speaking to Brandon Davis, Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson said: “As we begin Season 2, we get to see what that’s like, to see [Daredevil and Kingpin] fully self-actualized… they are at one within their skin. Matt is probably at his happiest being able to just wail on Fisk’s bad guys.
“He’s happy and that’s dark… we’re not starting Season 2 with everything in its right place.”
