Arcane returns with amazing ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ music video with Ekko & Jinx

Ekko holds Jinx in ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ music video

Although Arcane Season 3 isn’t happening, the spirit of Jinx and Ekko lives on thanks to an amazing new music video for one of Season 2’s best songs: ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ by Stromae and Pomme.

The final act of the Netflix series aired in November 2024, drawing that particular part of the League of Legends TV universe to a close (don’t worry, Arcane is just the beginning – there are spinoffs in the works).

Season 2 Episode 7, ‘Pretend Like It’s The First Time’, transported us to parallel universes, including one in which Zaun is free, Vander is alive, and Jinx never went down a bad path. In this world, Ekko and Jinx get the opportunity to fall in love.

It’s both beautiful and heartbreaking, knowing that Ekko will have to leave soon for his own universe to save his people. But before he does, they enjoy their last dance together in a stunning, four frames per second sequence, mirroring Ekko’s Z-drive ability.

The scene is backed by the moving track ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’, made by Belgian music star Stromae and French singer-songwriter Pomme. On March 20, 2025, League of Legends dropped an incredible music video for the Arcane Season 2 song.

Produced by the Netflix show’s animation studio, Fortiche, the video features new animated scenes in which Ekko and Jinx sing Stromae’s and Pomme’s vocals.

The characters are seen in the universe in which Arcane is set, cut between VHS style footage of the pair dancing in bliss, unaware of the reality that exists outside their bubble. In the final sequence, Jinx floats into the air with a sad look on her face, but Ekko catches up with her.

He holds Jinx in a warm embrace and she smiles. If you’ve watched Arcane, you’ll struggle to make it through the whole thing without at least welling up.

In a video to fans (via Billboard), Stromae said, “My first reaction when I saw the scene was, frankly, I found it quite poetic. I understood the vision that the directors and all the animators had of the series.

“They clearly knew what they wanted… I thought the music and everything worked well together, especially since it’s a pretty crucial moment.”

The video has sparked quite the reaction, having been viewed more than four million times in 17 hours, while amassing more than 26,000 comments.

“Anyone who still thinks Ekko only loves the perfect version of Jinx needs to see this,” wrote one fan. “He cares for her, he yearns for her and he will always be there to catch her when she falls. He chose her.”

Another said, “Ekko didn’t just save Jinx with that hug. He saved the heart of every timebomb fan. Truly the boy savior.”

“After watching it a few times, I noticed a few things that were breaking: the scene where he hugs her is actually a parallel of her when she jumps after his shadow disappears. My heart… I can’t,” added a third.

‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ lyrics in French & English

If you were wondering about the lyrics for the song, here they are in the original form French with the English translation underneath:

Intro (Stromae & Pomme)

  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you

Verse 1 (Stromae)

  • T’es la meilleure chose qui m’est arrivée
    • You’re the best thing to ever happen to me
  • Mais aussi la pire chose qui m’est arrivée
    • But also the worst thing to ever happen to me
  • Ce jour où je t’ai rencontrée, j’aurais peut-être préféré
    • On that day when I met you, maybe I would rather
  • Que ce jour ne soit jamais arrivé
    • That it never happened to me
  • La pire des bénédictions
    • The worst of all blessings
  • La plus belle des malédictions
    • The best of all curses
  • De toi j’devrais m’éloigner
    • I should stray away from you
  • Mais comme dit le dicton
    • But as the saying goes
  • Plutôt qu’être seul, mieux vaut être mal accompagné
    • “Better than alone, is to be in bad company”

Pre-chorus (Stromae, Stromae & Pomme, Pomme)

  • Tu sais c’qu’on dit
    • You know what they say
  • Sois près d’tes amis les plus chers
    • Stay close to your dearest friends
  • Mais aussi
    • But also
  • Encore plus près de tes adversaires
    • Even closer to your adversaries

Chorus (Stromae & Pomme)

  • Mais ma meilleure ennemie c’est toi
    • But my best enemy is you
  • Fuis-moi, le pire c’est toi et moi
    • Flee from me, the worst is you and I
  • Mais si tu cherches encore ma voix
    • But if you keep searching for my voice
  • Oublie-moi, le pire c’est toi et moi
    • Forget me, the worst is you and I

Verse 2 (Pomme)

  • Pourquoi ton prénom me blesse
    • Why does hearing your name hurt me
  • Quand il se cache, juste là dans l’espace?
    • When it hides right there in the vicinity?
  • C’est quelle émotion, la haine
    • What kind of emotion, is it hatred
  • Ou la douceur quand j’entends ton prénom?
    • Or pure sweetness when I hear your name?

Pre-Chorus (Pomme)

  • Je te l’ai dit, ne regarde pas en arrière
    • I had told you, not to keep looking behind
  • Le passé qui te suit, me fait la guerre
    • Your past will follow you and wage war on you

Chorus (Stromae & Pomme)

  • Mais ma meilleure ennemie c’est toi
    • But my best enemy is you
  • Fuis-moi, le pire c’est toi et moi
    • Flee from me, the worst is you and I
  • Mais ma meilleure ennemie c’est toi
    • But my best enemy is you
  • Fuis-moi, le pire c’est toi et moi
    • Flee from me, the worst is you and I

Outro (Stromae & Pomme)

  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
  • Je t’aime, je te hais, je t’aime, je te hais
    • I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you
