Andor Season 2 shatters record for Star Wars TV shows and movies

Cassian in a cockpit in Andor.

Andor Season 2 is finally here, and the concluding batch of episodes have set an impressive Star Wars record.

Andor is a series that goes where other Star Wars shows and movies fear to tread, as it deals with the terrible personal cost of participating in a revolution.

We first meet Andor Cassian when he’s a thief and scavenger who is highly skeptical of said revolt, and over the course of Season 1, witness him develop into a ruthless rebel spy.

Andor Season 2 completes Cassian’s transformation into brave freedom fighter, as the story works its way towards the events of Rogue One. And widespread acclaim of the new episodes have turned the series into a record-breaker.

Andor is now the highest-rated Star Wars movie or show on Rotten Tomatoes

Andor Season 2 currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 99%, making it the highest-rated show or movie in Star Wars history.

The new series overtakes Andor Season 1 on 96%, and A New Hope, which places third with 94%. At the other end of the scale, The Rise of Skywalker props up the list with a lowly 51%.
