Adolescence fans need to watch this series on Netflix with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score

Adolescence, the one-take, real-time crime drama, is taking Netflix by storm – and if you’re looking for something equally stressful, there’s another Stephen Graham drama right there.

Needless to say, Netflix has another Baby Reindeer-style hit on its hands. Adolescence is a four-episode story about a teenage boy suddenly accused of murdering his classmate. Told through continuous one-shot takes, it’s a feat of storytelling and tension.

Stephen Graham is one of the brains behind this megahit, but it’s not his first time telling a similarly stress-inducing tale of pressure.

In fact, there’s another series you can watch right now on Netflix that’ll keep the anxiety going, and it’s got a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Boiling Point series is on Netflix now

Much like Adolescence, Boiling Point is a four-episode British drama series created by and starring Stephen Graham, and it’s also now available on Netflix in the US.

The miniseries is actually a standalone sequel to the 2021 movie (also called Boiling Point), and takes place six months after the original story. It follows chef Carly, among others, who now runs her own restaurant.

It features many of the same characters, picking up after the traumatic events of the movie. Both the first episode of the series and the feature film are shot in one continuous take, putting you right in the heart of the action in this high-pressure kitchen.

From food allergies to personal dramas getting in the way of these chefs’ careers, it’s an intense environment that barely allows you to breathe. (Basically, it’s The Bear on steroids.)

But of course, it’s well worth watching the 2021 film before you dive into the series, and luckily, it’s pretty easy to do that too.

Where to watch Boiling Point movie

The Boiling Point movie (which has an impressive 99% on Rotten Tomatoes) is available to stream on Peacock, Roku, and Hoopla.

It’s also on Kanopy and Pluto, so you’ve got plenty of options to watch for free.

The movie takes place in the same universe as the series, mostly focusing on a night of service in the upmarket restaurant Jones & Sons. While the Head Chef Andy begins to spiral under financial pressure, his kitchen staff begin to encounter a string of problems.

At this point, it’s safe to say Stephen Graham is becoming an authority on nail-biting stories, so once you’ve finished Adolescence, it’s well worth checking out the Boiling Point drama.
