A Quiet Place 3 finally gets promising update after major delay

It’s been four years since the silent monster trilogy was last on screens, and thankfully, there’s now an update on the long-awaited A Quiet Place 3.

The original horror movie proved to be an unprecedented hit when it arrived in 2018. Making $340 million against a $17 million budget, it quickly got the greenlight for further movies, and in 2021, A Quiet Place Part II followed with equal success.

Thanks to the creative minds of director John Krasinski and writers Bryan Woods and Scott Peck, the franchise quickly gained a loyal following. In the years since, an independent prequel movie was released in 2023 – A Quiet Place: Day One.

However, A Quiet Place is an intended trilogy, with no third movie to be found. But that may be about to change, with a promising update from producer Brad Fuller.

A Quiet Place 3 is currently being “put together”

At SXSW, Fuller discussed progress on the upcoming horror-sci-fi sequel, and explained that the reason behind the delay so far has been the busy schedule of director Krasinski.

He also clarified that a third movie is still definitely on the cards, saying [via Collider], “So, Day One is not A Quiet Place 3, just to be clear.

“A Quiet Place 3, we’re starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate. He had just come off The Office, and he wanted to be a director.

“Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him… He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [A Quiet Place 3]. We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more Quiet Place movies beyond that.”

The Quiet Place franchise has been a profitable one for Paramount. So far, all three movies have made over $900 million at the box office, with another installment very likely to push it into $1 billion territory.
