1923 Season 2 Episode 4 just dropped a huge Train Station bombshell that changes everything

The only thing more iconic to Yellowstone than the Duttons themselves is their method for dumping the dead, and the newest 1923 Season 2 episode just changed everything you knew about the Train Station.
For years, the Train Station has been code for something much more sinister in Taylor Sheridan’s universe. The Duttons, being the protective and powerful family they are, have their fair share of enemies – many of whom quickly meet their maker when they try to overthrow this ranching family.
The Duttons’ solution? Dump the bodies and hide the evidence in a small area on the border of Montana and Wyoming. It’s a “jurisdictional deadzone,” meaning in theory, you couldn’t be charged for a crime committed there.
Until now, it was thought that the Train Station was the brainchild of some Dutton ancestor. But 1923 Season 2 just threw everything into question. (Warning: spoilers ahead!)
The Train Station wasn’t invented by the Dutton family
Until now, the Train Station was a huge part of the Dutton family lore. Whenever the family disposed of someone trying to go against them (from real estate developers to ranch hands gone bad), they typically gave the instruction to “take them to the Train Station.” AKA: get this body ‘outta here!
But 1923 Season 2 Episode 4 just dropped a huge bombshell. It turns out, the Train Station wasn’t a Dutton family invention at all, but rather, it was Donald Whitfield who came up with the idea to leave bodies there.

In a scene between Whitfield and his henchman Banner, Whitfield is gearing up for a big war between them and Jacob Dutton. Anticipating lots of death and dirty dealings, Whitfield explains the lawless area, suggesting it as a good place to dump any evidence of upcoming casualties.
Later, he even instructs Banner to dispose of the body of a woman he and his lover had been keeping prisoner as a sex slave – an act that Banner seems genuinely disturbed by.
He doesn’t call it “the Train Station,” however. For all we know, this could still very much be a Dutton trademark once they discover the locale.
With this revelation, fans have been sharing theories over what could happen next. But the most likely outcome is that the Duttons will get the better of Whitfield and start using the Train Station themselves. And even better if Whitfield is their very first victim.
“Huh.. Whitfield was the one who figured out the ‘train station’… I guess that’s where he’ll get dumped in the finale?” wrote one Redditor.
“Welp now we know the train station was Whitfield’s brain child and not Jacob’s like we thought and last week we heard Banner talk about how he’s the only man that’s ever scared him so I could absolutely see him flipping on Whitfield,” another said.
