The creator of Bayonetta, Hideki Kamiya, has given his response after a fan begged him to find a way to include the sultry video game protagonist in Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 launched in 2024 to the delight of fighting game fans around the world, and it’s already gotten its first guest character in Final Fantasy XVI‘s Clive Rosfield.

Fans are looking forward to even more new fighters after the release of Anna Williams — and it seems like one fan in particular has a very specific opinion on who should come next.

On February 25, 2025, a fan of the Bayonetta video game series tweeted out at Hideki Kamiya, the game’s director and co-creator of the franchise’s titular character, begging him to use his connections in the industry to put Bayonetta in Tekken 8.

Some fans feel Bayonetta would be a perfect guest fighter in the Tekken franchise.

Hideki Kamiya hits back at fan asking for Bayonetta in Tekken 8

The conversation started after Kamiya commented on Anna Williams’ trailer, remarking on her rocket launcher, saying, “I guess it’s no longer a battle between humans, but a battle between superhumans on the level of top Marvel heroes.”

“Bayonetta in Tekken. I’d like to see it,” a fan replied. “No offers?”

In typical Kamiya fashion, the acclaimed games director hit back at the fan with a biting response, urging them to check his bio.

“Do you know my profile? Can you read the text?” he said.

Kamiya is known for putting X users on blast, holding nothing back when it comes to swatting away netizens in his mentions pestering him about games he’s worked on in the past.

In fact, he put a “curse” on those who leaked the Nintendo Switch 2 early in a viral post, calling them “scum” and hoping they “always have poop on the soles of their shoes when they get home.”

Kamiya, however, is no longer involved with the Bayonetta series, having left Platinum games to co-found Studio Clovers and focus on the upcoming Okami Sequel project.

However, the fan wasn’t amiss in asking him about Tekken; Kamiya is notably close with Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada and other fighting game GOATS like Masahiro Sakurai, who featured Bayonetta in Smash Brothers as a playable fighter.

Given Kamiya’s current focus on Okami, though, it doesn’t look like he has any say in whether or not Bayonetta appears in the Tekken series… but fans can always hope.
