Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 actor Yuri Lowenthal has shared a positive message for fans worried about Peter Parker’s involvement following the Spider-Man 2 ending.
Spider-Man 2’s side missions and main questline ended on a note that left the door open for several possibilities. However, one beat that especially raised eyebrows involved Peter Parker handing the reins to his protege, Miles Morales, full-time.
Miles assured his mentor he could “go be Peter Parker for a while,” allowing the older Spidey to pursue other interests like reviving the Emily-May Foundation and supporting MJ in her new podcasting venture.
But what might this mean for Peter’s time as Spider-Man in the third mainline entry? Some fans have wondered if he’ll sit on the sidelines while Miles serves as the primary playable hero. Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has addressed these concerns.
Spider-Man 3 actor says Peter isn’t going anywhere
During an interview with The Direct at MultiCon, Peter Parker actor Yuri Lowenthal spoke about the role his character will play in the next installment from Insomniac.
Unable to share specifics, the actor noted that the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will not be relegated to the backseat. When asked about Peter’s role in Spider-Man 3, Lowenthal said,
“There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”

Outside of discussing the game in abstract terms, Insomniac has yet to formally announce its plans for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
Speaking with Friends Per Second shortly after the sequel’s release, Creative Director Brian Intihar teased that Spider-Man 3 may represent the studio’s Avengers: Endgame, with the first and second games being analogous to the MCU’s Iron Man and Civil War, respectively.

This implies even more heroes will join the fight against whatever threat comes next. But, based on Lowenthal’s comments, fans can at least rest assured that Peter Parker will play a major part regardless of his break at the end of Spider-Man 2.
