Super Smash Bros. Ultimate patch 7.0.0 adds Byleth, Nerfs Joker

Fire Emblem's Byleth from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announcement.

The latest patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is here, alongside new fighter Byleth, the Cuphead and Assassin’s Creed Mii Fighter outfits, and a host of balance changes.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate patch 7.0.0 is finally upon us, bringing with it the final fighter in Fighter Pass 5, Fire Emblem Three Houses’ main character Byleth.

Alongside Byleth, a number of additions to the game’s Spirit Board have arrived, namely from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, as well as a brand new stage Garreg Mach Monastery where players spend most of their time in the latest Fire Emblem. Likewise, 11 songs from Three Houses are being added to Ultimate as well.

The characters added to the game’s spirit board include: Edelgard, Dimitri (Fire Emblem), Claude, Sothis, Rhea, Seteth, Dorothea, Ingrid, and Hilda (Fire Emblem). Additionally, the Tetris Tertiminos that were previously a part of an event are now purchasable.

These new Mii Fighter outfits have also been added to the game:

  • Byleth Challenger Pack
  •  Cuphead Hat + Outfit
  • Altaïr Hood + Outfit
  • Rabbids Hat
  • MegaMan.EXE’s Helmet + Armor
  • X’s Helmet + Armor

Before updating, be sure to save your replays as videos, or you will not be able to access them. This is due to the way replays are handled in Smash Ultimate, replaying inputs rather than rendering video on its own without prompting.

A number of balance updates were also made, the full table of which you can find below.

Both Palutena and Joker received significant nerfs, and most characters got a shield size increase. Shiek, Zelda, Ryu, Ken, Cloud, Samus, Dr. Mario, Toon Link, and Young Link all received buffs.
