Reshiram is a dual Dragon/Fire Legendary introduced in Gen 5. It appears on the box art for the Pokemon Black game and is part of the Tao trio, along with Zekrom and Kyurem.
This powerful creature is one of the best Fire Attackers in Pokemon Go, and because the game is celebrating the Unova region in the 2025 Go Tour, it’s coming back as a 5-Star Raid boss. Here are all the details you need to know before facing this fearsome Legendary.
Reshiram weaknesses in Pokemon Go
As mentioned above, Reshiram is a dual Dragon/Fire-type Pokemon, which means its only weaknesses are Ground, Rock, and Dragon-type moves. However, it’s important to remember that Dragon-type creatures will be vulnerable to Reshiram’s Dragon-type attacks.
As for Reshiram’s resistances, don’t take any Bug, Electric, Steel, Fire, or Grass-type Pokemon to the encounter, and don’t use those types of moves either, as they won’t deal much damage.

How to get Reshiram in Pokemon Go
Similar to most Legendaries, players trying to catch Reshiram will have to challenge and defeat it in 5-Star Raid battles before. Once they manage to deplete its health, they’ll be given Premier Balls to attempt a catch – the amount of balls they get will depend on their performance during battle.

This time around, Reshiram will appear as a 5-Star Raid boss for a longer time, as it will be featured in several events before the Dual Destiny season ends.
Reshiram will first be back in the game during the Pokemon Go Tour Unova in-person events. They will take place in New Taipei City and Los Angeles starting February 21, 2025, until February 23, 2025.
NIANTICThen, it will be back on February 27, 2025, for the Road to Unova event (with the Charged Move Fusion Flare), and will eventually come back for the Go Tour Global celebrations which will run from March 1, 2025, until March 2, 2025.
Remember that catching a Legendary is hard, so don’t get frustrated if you miss your first attempts. However, you can always improve your chances by using Golden Razz Berries and landing Excellent Curveball Throws. You’ll also get more Premier Balls for raiding in a Gym that belongs to your team.
How to fuse Reshiram with Kyurem
During the 2025 Pokemon Go Tour Unova celebrations, both Black & White Kyurem will make their debuts, so players who have the three Tao Trio Legendaries will get to fuse them up as they like.
To fuse Reshiram and Kyurem to get White Kyurem, players must have one of each Pokemon, plus 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Reshiram Candy, and 30 Kyurem Candy.

The new item known as Blaze Volt Fusion Energy is a very rare source of power that can only be obtained in the game by defeating multiple White Kyurem in Raid battles.
Fused Kyurem will remain in this form until the player separates them. But worry not, as separating the Pokemon will have no cost at all.
