Rarest cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket & pull rates

pokemon tcg pocket rarest cards wisdom of sea and sky

Pokemon TCG Pocket landed on iOS and Android devices on October 30, 2024, providing an all-new chase to pull rare cards.

Unlike Pokemon TCG Live, which focuses almost exclusively on replicating the official ruleset of the physical game, Pocket is more about collecting and showcasing your pack pulls, from commons up to extremely scarce Gold Crown Cards.

But just how hard to get are TCG Pocket’s chase cards and which packs do they come from? We’ve put together a list of the game’s rarest cards from every set, compiling pull rates for Gold Crown cards and less-rare Three and Two-Star Rarities.

This list doesn’t include any cards from rarities that have a pull rate (in overall rarity) higher than 1%. For example, a specific card, such as One-Star Squirtle, has a pull rate of 0.321%, but each pack has a 2.5% chance of containing any One-Star rarity card.

So, with those prerequisites in mind, here are the rarest cards currently available in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

What are the rarest cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket?

Based purely on pull rates provided in-game, Gold Crown cards are the rarest and hardest cards to pull in TCG Pocket, with an individual pull rate of less than 0.1%.

Second to Gold Crown rarity are Three-Star rarity cards. These have a substantially higher pull rate than the former but are still tough to find, with an individual pull rate of no more than 0.2%.

As of Shining Revelry’s release on March 27, so-called Two-Shiny (Double Shiny Rare) cards surpass Two-Star cards in overall rarity. All of the following information is correct as of Eevee Grove’s release on June 26, 2025.

Gold Crown Card Pull Rates

As of Mythical Island’s release on December 17, pull rates for Gold Cards aren’t identical across every set. The gold Mew ex from Mythical Island has a much higher pull rate compared to gold cards found in Genetic Apex Packs, likely due to the former being a smaller set.

Gold cards represent the pinnacle chase cards from their respective sets and have the lowest pull rates of any rarity. All pull rates presented below are for the chance of pulling the specific card in each slot, rather than the chance of obtaining any gold card.

Three-Star Rarity Pull Rates

Every main Pokemon TCG Pocket set contains a trio of three-star Immersive Cards – all obtainable exclusively from their respective pack arts (Pikachu EX is only obtainable from Pikachu packs, for example).

For special sets like Mythical Island and Triumphant Light, just one Immersive Card is included in the set. While pull rates for all Immersive Cards remain consistent regardless of set type for standard packs, God Packs have varying rates.

Two-Shiny Rarity Pull Rates

Following the release of Shining Revelry on March 27, Two-Star cards are no longer the third-rarest card type, replaced by Two-Shiny rarity cards.

Two-Shiny cards have an overall pull rate of 0.333% and 1.333% in the fourth and fifth slots of any standard booster pack. If you’re lucky enough to find a God Pack, your chances of pulling a specific Two-Shiny card increase to 10.256%. For individual pull rates, see the table below.

Flair requirements

Players can get Flair – a visual effect – to give their cards a little dazzle and make them look fancier in their albums and on their playmat during battles. In order to do so, they must use duplicate cards and Shinedust.

Unlocking Rental Decks

To unlock Rental Decks, you need to collect (or unlock them with Pack Points) each deck’s associated core card or cards.

Rental Decks are a fantastic early-game method of obtaining complete decks for battling against NPC opponents, with 69 of them currently available. Each can only be used 10 times before expiring and cannot be used in matches against other players.

However, they can be used for all NPC battles, including events. It’s also worth noting that any version of a card with multiple variants will count towards the unlock process. For example, the full art, standard ex, and immersive versions of Mewtwo will all work.

See the table below for a list of every Rental Deck and the cards you need to unlock them.

That covers all of the rarest cards currently available in Pokemon TCG Pocket packs. However, it’s worth noting that some special cards, such as Mew, can only be obtained via alternative means. For more information on how to obtain the Mythical Pokemon, check out our guide.

We’ll be sure to update this list with all the latest rare cards as and when new sets are released, but in the meantime, read how TCG Pocket is already giving Pokemon Go a run for its money.
