
The Pokemon World Championships returned once again in 2025, bringing together the best Trainers from across the world as they competed in a high-stakes environment to determine who is the very best. While Peru UNITE took the crown on the team-based side, it was Beelzeboy walking away as the lone PoGo champ.
As has become standard from previous years, the event consisted of various fixtures spread across several games to determine a champion for each over three days. That included competitions for Pokemon UNITE, Pokemon Go, and the Pokemon TCG as well.

This year’s Championships took place in Anaheim, California, at the Anaheim Convention Center, from August 15-17, 2025.

Event schedule
The full 2025 Championships schedule can be found below. For every day of the event, play took place between 8 AM PST / 11 AM EST / 4 PM BST and concluded no later than 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST / 3 AM BST.

Closing Ceremony Reveals
The Pokemon Company revealed new details for several games at the close of this year’s Championships, including for Legends Z-A, Pokemon Go, and the Trading Card Game. See below for all the trailers and announcements.
Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution cards
Several new cards, including special illustration rares for Mega Charizard, Lucario, and Gardevoir, were revealed.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Battle Club
Legends: Z-A’s Battle Club mode pits four players against each other in an arena where they’re tasked with defeating as many of the opposing players’ Pokemon as possible in a time limit. Like the rest of Z-A, combat will be in real-time.
Pokemon TCG Pocket getting Mega Evolution
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s next major expansion, yet to be announced, will include Mega Evolution cards. A handful of these, including Mega Blaziken, Gyarados, and Altaria, were revealed in a trailer.
Eternatus in Pokemon Go
A new trailer heralding the arrival of Eternatus in Pokemon Go confirmed the Legendary would be available during the mobile game’s Max Finale event between August 23-24.
