April’s Pokemon TCG Pocket Drop event headlines Gen 9’s Pawmot with a special full-art card, along with four other Promo Cards to celebrate the Shining Revelry set. Here are all the details.

Drop Events are celebrated every month in Pokemon TCG Pocket, and they feature a main creature with a handful of new Promo Cards that can only be obtained through battling.

While the latest events headlined Gible and Cresselia ex, this time, they are putting the spotlight on Gen 9’s Electric-type mouse: Pawmot.

The event comes as part of the recently released Shining Revelry set, which introduced Shiny cards to the game, and has five new beautiful Promo cards every player will want to add to their collection.

Pawmot Drop Event: Date & time

The newest Pokemon TCG Pocket Pawmot Drop Event kicked off on April 7, 2025, and will run until April 17, 2025, which means players will have 10 days to get the five Promo cards, including the beautiful Pawmot full-art.

The event features four tiers of AI solo battles – featuring Pawmo, Pawmot, and different Lightning decks – that players must get through to get a turquoise Promo-A Vol. 6 booster with one random promo card inside.

Players who participate in the event will have the chance to earn five new Promo cards:

DIFFICULTYDECK BUILD

Lightning deck best counters

Even though there are other Pokemon besides Lightning – like Lickitung, Buneary, and Lopunny – the easiest way to take down any battle tier of the Pokemon TCG Pocket Pawmot Drop Event is to fully focus on Fighting-type deck builds.

Fighting-type cards deal +20 damage to Lightning-type Pokemon. This includes Pawmo, Pawmot, and the extremely powerful Pikachu ex. Don’t forget that you’ll need Trainer cards to help out, including items, tools, and supporters.

Moreover, to complete the Advanced and Expert challenges that require you to use decks with only 1 to 3 cards, you can use the Lucario & Rampardos Deck.

Best deck build

Many Fighting-type deck variations can help you out during your Pawmo and Pawmot encounters. However, two main decks excel: the Lucario & Rampardos and the Garchomp ex decks.

How to start

Finding and kicking off the Pawmot Drop Event battles is very easy. You just need to follow a few simple steps:

  1. Open Pokemon TCG Pocket
  2. Go to the ‘Battle’ tab (fourth icon on the bottom)
  3. Tap on ‘Solo’
  4. Enter the Pawmot Drop Event (first option)
  5. Pick a battle tier

Keep in mind that the Drop Events use a Stamina system, which depletes every time you win one of the battles. However, if you run out and want to keep going, you can trade Event Hourglasses to replenish it.

Before players can access the Pawmot Drop Event, they must unlock the Battle menu, which requires a Level 3 or higher.
