Pokemon Go Tour Unova Global event guide: Date & time, Shiny debuts, Egg pool, bonuses
NianticThe Pokemon Go Tour Unova Global is the next event in the popular mobile game, and here are all the details you need, including Shiny debuts, wild encounters, Raid Bosses, and bonuses.
Pokemon Go Tours are major events that celebrate and focus on Pokemon from a particular area. This year, it will revolve around the Unova region, first featured in Pokemon Black & White, released on the Nintendo DS.
The game has already celebrated the Kanto region in 2021 and the Hoenn region in 2023, and now, those who love the black-and-white era of Pokemon will have the chance to dive in and catch ’em all, so here are the full event details.
Pokemon Go Tour Unova Global event: Date & time
The Pokemon Go Tour Unova’s event will take place on two separate weekends.
The first one will run from February 21, 2025, until February 23, 2025, and will be an in-person event. This year, Los Angeles and New Taipei are the chosen cities.
The second weekend will run from Saturday, March 1, 2025, until Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time, and will be a global event for every player no matter their location.
Pokemon debuts
The incredibly powerful Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will make their Pokemon Go debut thanks to the Pokemon Fusion.
By using DNA Splicers, Kyurem can fuse with Zekrom using Volt Fusion Energy to become Black Kyurem or it can fuse with Reshiram using Blaze Fusion Energy to become White Kyurem.

NIANTICHow to fuse Kyurem
During the event, both Black and White Kyurem will appear as 5-Star Raid bosses. Those who manage to defeat them will have the chance to capture a regular or Shiny Kyurem in its unfused form.
Once players have Kyurem they will have to do the following to fuse it:

Volt and Blaze Fusion Energies can be gathered by defeating the different fused Kyurem in Raids multiple times.
Fused Kyurem will remain in this form until the player separates them. But worry not, as separating the Pokemon will have no cost at all.
Black Kyurem & White Kyurem new attacks
When players fuse a Kyurem – with the Charged Move Glaciate – and a Zekrom or Reshiram, the attack will transform into a new one.
- Black Kyurem: When fusing Zekrom with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, it will turn into the Charged Move Freeze Shock.
- White Kyurem: When fusing Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, it will turn into the Charged Move Ice Burn.
If the player separates the Pokemon, then the Charged Move will go back to how it was before the fusion.
Shiny debuts
Many long-awaited Shiny Pokemon will make their debut during the Pokemon Go Tour Unova event.
Players worldwide can purchase a ticket for a Masterwork Research that will allow them to encounter the Mythical Shiny Meloetta upon completion.
More so, Shiny Deerling will be added to the game too. Deerling, the Season Pokemon, takes on a different appearance each season, with each of four new habitats rotating hourly as part of Unova, so be sure to explore each one and encounter them all.
Additionally, Shiny Maractus, Shiny Sigilyph, and Shiny Bouffalant will be available as 10km Egg hatches for the first time during Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global.

Special Research
There will be an event-themed Special Research story during the event that will unlock more Legendary secrets. It is called “It’s Not Over Yet” and will be live on March 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time.
Players will have to pick between two event badges (Black version Reshiram or White version Zekrom). The chosen badge will determine the rewards and bonuses a player gets.
Black version (Reshiram) badge
- Receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards.
- All Kyurem encountered after defeating a Black Kyurem in 5-Star Raids will know the Charged Move Glaciate.
White version (Zekrom) badge
- Receive Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards.
- All Kyurem encountered after defeating a White Kyurem in 5-Star Raids will know the Charged Move Glaciate.
Field Research
Trainers who participate in the event might find two event-themed Field Research that – upon completion – will grant them different encounters.

Event bonuses
On event days, all trainers will receive the following bonuses and rewards between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM local time.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event.
All trainers will also receive the following bonuses and rewards between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM local time on event days.
- No limit on Remote Raids from March 1 to March 2.
- Up to 6 Special Trades per day.
- 1/2 Stardust cost for trades.
Party Play & Routes
New Party Play challenges will be available during the two-day event and players will have to work together with friends to earn encounters with Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, and Durant.
More so, players who take on Routes during the event will have increased chances of coming across Basculin, both Red and Blue-Striped Forms.
NianticSpecial Backgrounds
Trainers who participate in the 5-Star Raids will have the chance to get two new Special Backgrounds. They will be featured on the Pokemon’s summary page to commemorate the Unova Tour adventures.
One background will be inspired by the Pokemon Black version, while the other will be inspired by the White version.
- Reshiram can have a background inspired by the Pokemon Black version.
- Zekrom can have a background inspired by the Pokemon White version.
- Kyurem encountered in its fused form after defeating Black or White Kyurem can have either background.
If you fuse a Zekrom or Reshiram that has a Special Background with a Kyurem with a Special Background of the opposite color, then the fused – Black or White – Kyurem will have its own variant background.
New Avatar items
Trainers who participate in the Unova Tour event will receive a Go Tour 2025 Tee in the free Tour Pass. Those who upgrade to the Tour Pass Deluxe will also get the Kyrem Helmet.
These avatar items will be available for purchase in the in-game shop starting February 24, 2025:

Additionally, a Shiny Meloetta Tee will be available as a reward in the new Masterwork Research and will be up for purchase in the in-game shop from February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM until March 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
From February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM until March 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM local time, hardcore fans will even have the chance to purchase the Road to Unova Raid add-on to get raid-themed bonuses and the Black and White Joggers avatar item. Those who purchase the Hatch add-on will get Egg hatching-themed bonuses, Pokemon encounters, and the Black and White Hoodie avatar item.
NIANTICMore music & stickers
New pieces of featured music inspired by Pokemon Black & White, as well as Black & White 2 versions will be added to the game. The music was composed by Junichi Masuda, the game series composer and Chief Creative Fellow of The Pokemon Company.
Players will be able to hear the new music while walking on the map, catching Pokemon, taking on Raid battles, and even loading the game.
While trainers from the in-person events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City will get access to the Pokemon Go Tour Unova-themed stickers earlier, the rest of the players will be able to get them starting February 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM local time.
Stickers can be obtained from PokeStops and Gifts. However, those who’d rather purchase them from the in-game shop can get them as soon as February 21, 2025.
