Pokemon Go is following the introduction of the Dynamax Kanto Birds – Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres – with the debut of Dynamax Raikou, the Electric-type Legendary Beast from Gen 2.
Here are all the Dynamax Raikou Max Battle weekend details, including the special bonuses, Timed Research, and more.
Max Battle Weekend: Date & time
Dynamax Raikou’s Max Battle Weekend will run from Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 6:00 AM until Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 9:00 PM local time.
This means players will have a very small window of time to go up against Dynamax Raikou to try to defeat and catch it.
Dynamax debut
The mighty Electric-type Raikou will be the first Legendary Beast to get its Dynamax form in Pokemon Go during the Might and Mastery season.
Moreover, lucky – and persistent – players might even encounter a Shiny Dynamax Raikou.
As the trailer teased, all three Legendary Beasts will get their Dynamax forms during the current season, though we still don’t know if Entei or Suicune will be next.
DEXERTOEvent bonuses
These are the bonuses that will be active during the Dynamax Rikou Max Battle Weekend:
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
- 1/4 adventuring distance to receive Max Particles, though they must first collect all MP in their Nearby Menu
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- x8 Max Particles from Power Spots
Before the event, from March 10, 2025, and up until the end of it, the following bonus will be active for all players:
- 3/4 Max Particle cost for unlocking and powering up Max Moves
Timed Research
Starting Monday, March 10, 2025, at 6:00 AM local time, a free Timed Research opportunity will be available for all trainers.
Those who manage to complete it will get an encounter with Dynamax Drilbur, along with other items. Keep in mind that catching Dynamax Drilbur will help players round out their battle teams when going up against Dynamax Raikou.

Campfire is an app that makes it easier to find Max Battles nearby, as well as other trainers looking for friends to challenge powerful Raid bosses.
