Pokemon Go Powerful Potential event: Dates, Kubfu debut, Shiny Charcadet, bonuses & more

The new Pokemon Go Might and Mastery season will kick off with the Powerful Potential event, which will bring the Legendary Kubfu to the game, along with the debut of Shiny Charcadet and more surprises.

Pokemon Go’s latest season – Might and Mastery – will focus on Fighting-type creatures, featuring them in several events along its three-month span.

The introduction of Macham’s Gigantamax form has been confirmed, but while players wait for it, they can go chase after the Legendary Kubfu and its two Urshifu forms during the Powerful Potential event, which will also add Shiny Charcadet and bring back the Gigantamax Kanto starters to Niantic’s game.

Powerful Potential event: Date & time

The Pokemon Go Powerful Potential event will run from Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM until Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.

Kubfu & Shiny Charcadet debut

The Powerful Potential’s main event is the debut of the Wushu Pokemon, the Legendary Kubfu, who will be obtainable through a Special Research story.

This means players looking to register Kubfu and evolve it into either Urshifu Single Strike or Urshifu Rapid Strike will have plenty of time to do so while enjoying exclusive event bonuses and more special content.

Shiny Charcadet will also make its Pokemon Go debut by hatching from different types of Eggs, and those who manage to gather enough Candy can even get Shiny Armarouge or Shiny Ceruledge by evolving it.

Might and Mastery Special Research

As mentioned above, a new free Special Research story will be available during the Pokemon Go Powerful Potential event that will introduce Kubfu to players.

The Research will allow trainers to reach new heights with their tiny Legendary partner from March 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM until Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:59 AM local time – when the current season will end.

Eggs

The Powerful Potential event will feature Charcadet in 2km, 5km, 7km, and 10km Eggs, increasing players’ chances to spot a Shiny Charcadet while also getting them plenty of Candy to evolve it.

In addition to Charcadet, the usual Pokemon that are available in this season’s Egg tiers will hatch from their respective Eggs.

Max Battles

Starting Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 6:00 AM until Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 9:00 PM local time, Power Spots will feature these creatures in Max Raids:

• 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
