DEXERTONew PokeStop Showcases are planned for the coming weeks in Pokemon Go, with challenges dropping alongside in-game events, so here’s the schedule for August 2025 so far.
PokeStop Showcases are fun alternate ways players can compete against each other outside of the battling arena. Unlike Raid battles, these Showcases aren’t about fighting skills, as your ‘mon can be judged on several different aspects, such as size or weight.
However, this feature is often overlooked because many believe it’s not competitive enough. But that’s plain wrong, as Showcases can sometimes be brutal. Plus, if your Pokemon beats out the competition, you can earn useful rewards like Stardust, XP, and Fast TMs.

How to find Pokestop Showcases
You can find PokeStop Showcases on the overworld map by looking for a small blue disc floating above them. After putting a Pokemon in them, the disc will then turn purple. Then, you should stay updated with the leaderboard to see how you’re doing!
DEXERTOHow to enter a Showcase
As with spinning PokeStops, players must be within range of the active Showcase Stop to enter a Pokemon. When in range:
- Tap the PokeStop
- Select the “Showcase” option
- Enter the Pokemon that meets the criteria for the event
or
- Get within range of a PokeStop with an active showcase
- Catch a Pokemon while in range that meets the criteria for the Showcase
- After catching, select “Enter Nearby PokeStop Showcase” during the catch summary
Players who submit a Pokemon to a Showcase will still be able to use it in battles or Raids. However, a single Pokemon can’t be entered in two Showcases at once.

Every trainer who enters a Showcase will receive XP and Stardust as a reward upon the showcase’s conclusion. However, those who place in the top three can win extra rewards that can include:
- Hyper Potions
- Ultra Balls
- Great Balls
- Fast TMs
- Charged TMs
- Golden Razz Berries
- Silver Pinap Berries
- Limited Use Incubators
- Super Incubators
- Lucky Eggs
- Star Pieces
- Lure Modules
- Rainy Lure Modules
- Magnetic Lure Modules
- Glacial Lure Modules
- Mossy Lure Modules
Participating in Showcases is a great way to grind premium items, especially Lure Modules. These can be expensive and difficult to obtain without spending PokeCoins. Because of this, it is worth jumping into as many Showcases as possible when they are active.
How to win a Showcase
Currently, the main criteria used to judge a showcase in Pokemon Go is size. To win a showcase, players will want to enter an eligible Pokemon with the biggest size possible.
The size is calculated using an algorithm:
- Divide scaled height x800 by max height.
- That number is then added to the scaled weight x150, divided by the max weight.
- The new number is added to the Pokemon’s IV sum, x50, and divided by 45.
- The final score is added against a bonus for XXL Pokemon of 178 points – non-XXL Pokemon do not get this bonus.
While the math above isn’t something players will want to do while out chucking catches into Showcases, it’s good to keep track of the biggest members of the team and keep them handy for the best score.
