The Hoenn Grass-type Starter is back in Pokemon Go, so if you bag yourself the amazing Mega Sceptile, be sure to learn the best moves to exploit this powerhouse in battle.
The Might and Mastery season keeps bringing mighty fighters to Niantic’s game, and now is time for one of the best Mega Evolutions to take the spotlight once again.
Mega Sceptile will appear as a Mega Raid boss in Pokemon Go for a very limited time, so those hunting one with perfect IVs to use in PvP and Raid battles must check the best movesets available for it in the game.
It’s worth noting that Mega Evolutions cannot participate in the Battle League, but from time to time, there’s a special Master League: Mega Edition that allows them to fight.
Best moveset for PvP
In PvP, the best moveset for Mega Sceptile consists of Bullet Seed as the Fast Move and Breaking Swipe as the Charged Move.
Mega Sceptile is quite a glass cannon, however, its very high Attack stat can come in handy if used properly. To exploit that, use Bullet Seed as your Fast Move to access your Charged Moves sooner while also enjoying STAB.
For the Charged Move, you can use Breaking Swipe to exploit the Pokemon’s secondary typing: Dragon. That way, you can pressure your opponent to waste their shields with a strong STAB move that also expands your coverage. Moreover, you’ll have a 50% chance to decrease the target’s Attack stat by 20%.
If you’re looking for a secondary Charged Move, Leaf Blade is the way to go. It is cheap, strong, and benefits from STAB. Moreover, if you’re sure you’ll end up using Leaf Blade, you can switch Bullet Seed for Fury Cutter to expand the coverage even more.

Best moveset for Raids
The best moveset players can teach Mega Sceptile for Raid battles consists of Bullet Seed as the Fast Move and Frenzy Plant as the Charged Move, for a 20.33 DPS and 314 total damage output.
Raid battles are always best fought with only one type. So, because you cannot use Mega Sceptile as a full Dragon-type Pokemon – since it has no Dragon Fast Move – going for a full Grass style is the way to secure a win.
Bullet Seed will be your only Fast Move option, but do not fret, as it is a pretty decent attack. For the Charged Move, go with Frenzy Plant for maximum Grass-type damage at a fair cost. Both will benefit from STAB, giving you a higher advantage over Water, Ground, and Rock-type opponents.
Keep in mind that Frenzy Plant is an event-exclusive move, so you will need either a Sceptile evolved during an event like a Community Day or an Elite Charged TM.
All moves Mega Sceptile can learn in Pokemon Go
Unlike normal Sceptile, Mega Sceptile is a dual Grass/Dragon-type. So, while it has access to the same moves as Sceptile, it can make better use of some Dragon-type attacks.
