Munchlax is a rare Pokemon that can only be acquired from hatching Eggs. What makes it even more difficult to get is that it only appears in 5km Eggs from Adventure Sync rewards or during specific events.
Luckily for players hunting Munchlax, this tiny fella with a big appetite will have its own Hatch Day event on August 9, 2025. This means it will hatch more frequently from 2km Eggs on that day from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM local time. Plus, it will have increased Shiny odds!
How to evolve Munchlax into Snorlax
Tiny Munchlax is part of a two-member family, which means it only evolves once, so the Candy goal is not that high. Plus, it doesn’t need any particular item or special requirements.
To evolve Munchlax into Snorlax, players just need to feed it 50 Candy to trigger the evolution process.

With Munchlax popping more often from 2km Eggs during the event, players shouldn’t have trouble gathering the required amount of Candy.
However, to do it faster, they can always transfer their extra Munchlax to Professor Willow in exchange for a few more, set the Pokemon as their Buddy and take it for long walks, or trade some Rare Candy for more Snorlax Candy.

Shiny hunters might have a tough time spotting Shiny Munchlax, as the only difference is that its body fur goes from steel blue to Denim blue. Of course, when you evolve it, you’ll get a Shiny Snorlax with the same characteristics.
It’s worth noting, though, that the odds of finding a Shiny Pokemon are very low, as there’s no special technique or method to secure an encounter.
