Pokemon Go Kyurem: Best moveset for PvP and Raids

pokemon kyurem

Kyurem is returning to Pokemon Go for a special event, so here’s an overview of the best movesets for this Legendary in both PvP and Raid battles.

The Unova region introduced Pokemon fans to some of the most powerful Legendaries that have ever existed in the long-running franchise. Dragon/Ice-type Pokemon Kyurem falls into that category.

Those who have managed to take this creature down in 5-Star Raids might be looking at how to make the best use of it, given that Kyurem can learn several different powerful moves in Niantic’s game and is currently one of the best for the Master League.

Best moveset for PvP

Pokemon Go players who want to dominate PvP should equip Kyurem with Dragon Breath as its Fast Move and Dragon Claw as its Charged Move.

As a dual Dragon/Ice-type Pokemon, Kyurem can make good use of both Dragon and Ice-type attacks. Dragon Breath does work as an STAB option and does work as a better option than Steel Wing, even though the latter has a higher DPS and the same EPS.

As for the Charged Moves, Dragon Claw and Glaciate both offer low costs to trainers and each of the two gets the coveted STAB.

Even though the first one is slightly better – as it turns Kyurem into a spammy Pokemon with its low cost and quickness – you can still set Glaciate as your secondary Charged Move if you can afford it.

Best moveset for Raids

The best moveset for Kyurem in Raids consists of Dragon Breath as its Fast Move and Glaciate as its Charged Move, with a DPS of 16.97 and a total damage output of 335.4.

Out of the two Fast Moves Kyurem has, the only one good enough is Dragon Breath as it benefits from STAB, and Steel Wing is just worthless.

Despite same-type movesets being the ideal scenario for Raids, in this case, it is better to pair Dragon Breath with Glaciate instead of Draco Meteor, as the Dragon-type nuke is too slow and the Ice one gives more coverage.
