The Legendary Cobalion was made available to the game back in 2019, and since then players have been striving to catch it to either complete their Pokedex or to use it in whatever battle that may come their way.
Now that this Legendary is currently being featured as one of the best Pokemon for the Ultra League and is returning to Pokemon Go for the Road to Unova event, here are its best movesets.
Best moveset for PvP
The best moveset for Cobalion in Pokemon Go PvP battles is Double Kick as a Fast Move and Sacred Sword as the Charged Move.
Cobalion has three potential Fast Moves to choose from, but Double Kick is by far the clear winner. Not only does it deal the most damage out of all the choices while generating the highest energy, but you’ll also have STAB with the Sacred Sword Charged Move.
On the topic of Charged Move, Cobalion has four choices, but with the STAB and fantastically low attack cost, you’ll be dealing some great damage throughout the battle if you go with Sacred Sword.
Additionally, if you can have a secondary Charged Move, you can either pick Iron Head or Stone Edge, depending on the coverage you’ll need to face your opponent.

Cobalion’s best moveset for Raid battles also has Double Kick as the Fast Move and Sacred Sword as the Charged Move.
As mentioned above, out of the three Fast Moves, Double Kick provides solid energy gain and benefits from STAB.
For Raids it is always recommended that you go with one type – in this case, Terrakion’s Fighting type. Out of the two options (Sacred Sword and Close Combat), the first one is the ultimate best as it has better synergy with Double Kick and it’s cheaper.
