Gen 4 introduced three Legendary creatures to the Pokemon franchise: Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. These three are known as the Lake Guardians, and are pure Psychic-type creatures that represent knowledge, emotion, and willpower, respectively.
If you somehow manage to add them to your team, here are the best movesets you can teach them for either PvP or Raid battles in Niantic’s game.
Best moveset for PvP
Pokemon Go players should equip either Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf with Confusion as the Fast Move and Swift as the Charged Move.
Because the three of them have almost the same move pool, this combination is effective for all of them.
Out of the two Fast Moves they have, Confusion is best, as it deals much more damage than Extrasensory. For the Charged Move, Swift is extremely cheap, so it can force the opponent to sacrifice their shields early on, leaving them exposed.
As for the secondary Charged Move, each Legendary should use its unique move to expand its coverage: Uxie-Thunder, Mesprit-Blizzard, and Azelf-Fire Blast.
The Pokemon CompanyBest moveset for Raids
The Lake Guardians’ best moveset for Raids consists of Confusion as the Fast Move and Future Sight as the Charged Move, for 9.56 DPS and a total damage output of 219.37.
Because they are all pure Psychic-type creatures, they should all go to Raid battles boasting a single Psychic-type moveset to benefit from STAB.
As mentioned before, Confusion is better than Extrasensory, so go with it. In the Charged Move’s case, they only have one – Future Sight – so equip them with it. Plus, it is an outstanding nuke, so take advantage of it.

While all three share the same Fast Moves and two Charged Moves, each Legendary has a particular attack. Here are all of them:
Fast Moves
- Confusion (Psychic/STAB)

- Thunder (Electric – only Uxie)
- Mespirit (Ice – only Mespirit)
