X: Palworld_ENJapanese developers Pocketpair have revealed its first Palworld spin-off game, and it’s a dating sim focusing on the creatures themselves.
Palworld was first released on the PC and Xbox in January 2024, taking the internet by storm in the process.
Fans flocked to Twitch to watch their favorite streamers craft and collect their favorite pal’s, which are Pocketpair’s version of Pokemon creatures.
The developers revealed their first spin-off of the popular title, and it’s a dating sim featuring creatures from the game.
Pocketpair reveals Palworld dating sim
A Steam listing for the game went live on Monday, March 31, and Palworld shared the trailer in a post on X, leaving users shocked and confused in the process.
“Under the legendary World Tree, your destiny intertwines with the adorable Pals,” says the trailer.
“You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palpagos Private Academy,” the Steam page reads.
“You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It’s up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them.”
Users quickly began to share their thoughts about the release, with some simply shocked at the idea and others questioning whether it was real.
“Chat I thought this was a joke,” one user commented.
Another said: “I saw this last year as a joke but is it actually happening?! I am keen it looks so cute! I am keen to play it!”
Many users pointed out the fact it was posted the day before April Fools Day, with one person saying: “Not again, This April Fools Day joke feels sad.”
However, both the Palworld X account and Pocketpair’s community manager say that the game is real and has nothing to do with the joke-filled holiday.
“April joke? What? Wishlist now on Steam,” Palworld said.
Pocketpair’s CM, Bucky, added: “This doesn’t concern April Fools.”
The game doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing, so we’ll have to wait for the studio to reveal more news about the Palworld dating sim.
